Leungs is my clutch chinese spot on the big island. Every time I go back, this is always the first place I eat at. Char siu, roast pork and fried rice, can't beat it! It's the classic little run down hole in the wall place that pumps out great food!
Got quite ill shortly after eating here - like in 20 minutes. Also, kinda overwhelming on a first visit trying to understand the 'system' of ordering. Will continue to look for quality Chinese food in Hilo and realize a chain is not the place to do so
When I first moved to the Big Island, I ask a Chinese friend where to find the best Chinese food on the Hilo side. They directed me to Sum Leung Chinese Kitchen, a steam table joint in a large strip mall. I couldn't believe that they could make such a recommendation, but I have since learned the sad truth of their assessment. This place is okay for a cheap and filling lunch in Hilo, but it could never survive in San Francisco's Chinatown,

Have eaten here several times and am sad to say the cuisine is not improving. This is a bare bones Chinese restaurant with average quality food and casual service. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous, but lately the flavors seem flat.

We always come here for Oyster Chicken and House Cake Noodles. The chinese food is always awesome and portions huge, I mean huge! We can come here every day and be happy. The GauGee Soup is such a great mix of vegetables, meats and won ton. The interior of the restaurant could be cleaned up and more servers to assist the busy restaurant. The service is not slow but certainly not 5 star.
I actually couldn't believe that any Chinese restaurant could be that bad. We were in Hilo for eleven days, and this place stands out as the worst meal of our trip.We ordered several pork dishes and they were nearly all fat and gristle and completely inedible. The gravy on the noodles tasted like it came out of a package. When the waitress saw all the food left over, she knew better than to ask how everything was.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

if you are flying out from lihue airport you don't have much options for the food :). This place is the only place which give you good options with decent airport price. We took the chicken burger, hummus sandwitch and capers island sandwich, the portions are good as per the price and so is the taste. There were no other option for the food so can't compare with any other airport food place :).I will recommend if you are picky on food get something before you clear the security or enjoy the food here in this bar :). I hope you also like the food. i didnt order any drinks but other folks were having and all looked nice hi hi :).aloha

Friends told me this was very good.......it is good but not that special. The food was fresh. They made it very quickly and were very pleasant, As the sign says it is a fusion .....so not a distinct style. At least it was not for only American taste. We shared 3 dishes and the servings were of good size and taste.
