Reviews on Chinese food in Lihue, Hawaii, United States. Lihue, Kauai's capital city, is also served by the island's only airport, making it the most popular port of entry to Kauai and a hub of industry on this small island. However, Lihue retains its island charm and emerald beauty despite its urbanization. Spend the day sunbathing and dipping into the temperate waters at Kalapaki Beach before enjoying a luau at Kilohana Plantation. Step out of town to witness breathtaking Wailua Falls cascading over tiered stone to a drop of 80 feet.

Ho's has a selection of pre-prepared food that looks ok, but doesn't seem to get very high marks in other reviews. Instead, my wife and I both ordered cooked-to-order dishes. I had the Ho's House Special noodles. It can out piping hot, fresh, and delicious. It was loaded with shrimp, beef, pork, and fresh veggies. I thought it was very good food, served up quickly, by friendly folks.

We didn't stop at a retail store to get our OnoPops. It came to us courtesy of a vendor at the Hanapepe Friday Night Street Fair. But we had heard so much about them we had to try one. They are, as the locals know, fantastic. Locally made, organically derived, they are actually good for you. And on a hot, muggy night nothing tastes as good as an OnoPop.

We were looking for a place that was locally owned to help support the economy of Kaua'i and found this restaurant in a strip mall, downtown Lihue. It is a small restaurant with only 2 people working (cook and waitress/hostess). We were pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of the food.

The restaurant is nestled in Lihue's newest shopping center, close to grocery, gas and a pet store. When I'm out shopping, there are so many times I don't want to go home and cook, so stopping in the Panda Express is really convenient. The food is cooked and ready to eat, which I like. The portions are big and we often share a plate. The food is tasty and hot. The people are what makes the place great. They smile, they're personable and they look like they love their job. This is a place we will return.

My wife and I went the other night. The food was sub par. I ordered the bbq mixed plate. One piece of each. And wife ordered chicken chow mein. She had a hefty plate of food for hers. It was well priced but it didnât taste the best. Maybe because they were very busy but kind of tasted like it was put in the microwave. Thatâs at least in our opinion.
