We've been looking for a good plate lunch close to Poipu. We finally found it! Fast friendly service from this small, well worn restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly guy as we checked out the menu. While we debated, several locals came in and ordered up their food. Our food was better than expected. Awesome Loco Moco complete with runny eggs and a delish #3 special.Decent portions - we shared two meals for a family of four. As an added bonus, only 5 minutes to Salt Pond Beach. What an awesome find!!

Thank you to Jackie (owner) for accommodating us (30) at the last minute when the other restaurant cancelled our reservation. She even made items we custom ordered! Every dish we ordered was delicious. Fabulous desserts! The lilikoi chiffon pie is a must. Definitely worth the trip to Hanapepe and while we were there decided to walk the swinging bridge.

Paina Pono Café is located at the Eleele Shopping Center, on the island of Kauai. Open at 6:30am. Serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Wide selection of menu items to choose from and very reasonable prices. Daily Specials also available. Sit in or take o
We stopped for a meal here before going on a cruise, and had a couple of rice plates. The food was really good - the vegetables fresh and crisp not over-cooked, the chicken tender and perfectly done. It wasn't a busy time, and we found the service was prompt really helpful - so much so that we wondered if the lady was the owner of the restaurant. I'd definitely go there again if I was in the vicinity.

We didn't expect gourmet food and we were not disappointed. The food tasted good and there was a lot of it and I debated between an Average and Very Good rating. I settled on Average because there are lots of fast food restaurants on the island that have good tasting food and this did not stand out from the rest of them. My wife had the rib plate and I had a loco moco. The rib plate in particular was interesting in that it also contained fried shrimp and a piece of fried fish.
