Always looking for a good local spot and this is it! Classic cafeteria style eatery. Select 2 or 3 items. Comes with rice or noodles. Or as some locals requested 1/2 and 1/2. Pork adobo, taro with coconut milk, chicken, veg mix, fried pork, the list goes on. All very good. Wished we lived nearby. We asked what the dishes were and they were very accommodating in describing the food. Good food and a good value. Lots of local people. We got our food to go. There is a wine shop next door. Stopped in and got some beverages and went down to the beach to eat. When we are back on Kauai we will come here again.

We were hungry for dinner and found the foodcourt. Now I know how we all feel about foodcourt food, it's usually mediocre. I know, I know...let me be your guinea pig! Heck! I was skeptical too until I stopped upon their window and an older gentleman and woman said come in, take a look at their menu. She said something about good reviews on Yelp and that she had rhematoid arthritis so she can't cook anymore but all the recipes are her's, good deals etc, etc..So we thanked her and walked around to get a feel for the rest of the restaurants and guess what? We went back! Thank goodness...it was bustling this time and we were gonna have to wait patiently for our food. We got the fried chicken and Neals Chicken it was delicious and fresh made to go. The macaroni salad was smooth tasting with a lil side of cucumbers was refreshing. I wish this place was next door to me..

We didn't stop at a retail store to get our OnoPops. It came to us courtesy of a vendor at the Hanapepe Friday Night Street Fair. But we had heard so much about them we had to try one. They are, as the locals know, fantastic. Locally made, organically derived, they are actually good for you. And on a hot, muggy night nothing tastes as good as an OnoPop.
