Poi By The Pound, LLC The ONLY Authentic Hawaiian Restaurant on Maui 430 Kele Street, Kahului HI 96732
Poi By The Pound is a clean and well maintained restaurant that serves great food. We had the Kalbi Steak and the Kalua Pork with Cabbage.... both had great taste. Their poi was as good as we have ever had.... not too sour, almost sweet and very smooth. If there was one thing that could be improved on, it would be the amount of time that it took to get our food... over 30 minutes for our dishes to arrive at the table.

One night I had a shrimp curry dish that was just right and had a dozen medium shrimp. 4 stars for the flavor, price and size. Then one morning I waited for 30 minutes to get seated. Popular place on the weekend. Service was prompt in spite of how busy they were. Unfortunately the banana mac nut pancakes (2 huge cakes) were over cooked and I can still taste that. One star for them. Although they brag about their batter it seemed like any other. There was a rich vanilla sauce on top with 5 or 6 banana slices that could not overcome the burnt taste. I barely made it thru 1/2 the order, even scraping off the burnt layer due to the portion. This griddle meal comes nowhere the quality of the banana pancakes at Tasty Crust of the French toast at Vanta Cafe. Regret not getting an omelet. If you do go drive up the parking garage ramp and park on the 2nd level. Cafe is at the corner of the ramp.

If youâre in the Wailuku area, be sure to stop at this little cafe to enjoy some really ono Japanese food :)). Their menu includes typical dishes (katsu, teriyaki, etc), the miso soup is really yummy, and thereâs fresh Hawaiian fish as well... prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and prompt, and the portions are generous too. Enjoy!

What a fabulous find and reviews are accurate. The menu is quite varied and appealing to most palates. Unfortunately we were not hungry enough for the substantial seafood soup that looked fabulous. The beef tongue special was delicate and so yummy. The plate had a generous portion of tasty meat. The shrimp and pork plates were also so delicious. Moderately priced and great friendly service. Some smaller tables inside and 3 picnic tables outside. Can't wait to go back.

This great local and Filipino style restaurant serves up some good breakfast and lunch dishes and a decent price. They serve up classic breakfast offerings, local favorites, as well as some classic Filipino fares. The food was all prepared fresh and from time of order to serving came at a good speed. Everything was nicely plated and the coffee kept pouring. It was well staffed, so attentive service was of no issue. The grab a menu and self seating made for a quicker dinning experience and very desirable while on vacation and just wanting to get in and out for our site seeing on the island after we ate.Enjoyed 3 mornings of different dishes each day. Some unique dishes that we enjoyed were the Shrimp and Ahi Fried Poke Eggs Benedict which were basically a eggs benedict with a side of fried poke which was very good. I really enjoyed the Luau Omelette with the kalua pork filling and a side of lomi lomi salmon which I put on top of the omelette like salsa. One tip I have is pass on the country potatoes and ask for a fruit cup substitute. It balanced things out much better. If you want to try the Filipino dishes, don't worry, they are not weird and very tasty. The Longanisa Fried Rice with eggs on top was great and the a couple others that are different, but not all that strange, so take a change and enjoy the different flavors. However, if you need to play it safe, the Crabcake & Avocado Eggs Benedict and the Salmon Bagel Sandwich are good as well. They also offer the traditional griddle items as well such as pancakes. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. It isn't fine dinning, but a good restaurant that beats Denny's any day. This was our second experience at this restaurant after 5 years from our last vacation in Maui and it has held up which is nice to see as a lot small independent restaurants don't last over time.I do recommend this place and look forward to eating there again when ever we return to Maui next.

fresh - local - family owned Cafe O'Lei at the Dunes is Maui local's go-to restaurant for fresh seafood, steaks, and dynamic Hawaiian-inspired cuisine in a beautiful setting overlooking the West Maui Mountains. Simply wonderful food served in a casual but
It was 4pm on a quiet Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly by a nice hostess then...nothing. Other than my boyfriend and I, there were two singles and another two-top in the entire restaurant! I, unfortunately, am not able to rate anything other than the complete lack of service. Needless to say, we left at 4:15pm in search of an establishment that would, at the very least, take our order.

We are an almost entirely organic and GMO free restaurant that is vegetarian and locally sourced from the largest organic farm in Hawaii Kumu farms. We make our own garden burgers, pesto, hot sauces, dressings and our acai blend is amazing. We are known f
My experience is with the Farmacy at the Pukalani Center location. I live upcountry and have been looking for GOOD food. I walked by the Farmacy many times thinking I fix that kind of food at home. But! the Wild Venison Burger on the menu drew me in one day. The salad that came with the burger is simple but delicious. I am completely hooked on this place. Super friendly even when busy. The word is out and they can get swamped and a little slow, but the food is so worth it! Apparently you can order ahead on farmacymaui.com. They use biodegradable to-go containers.

Conveniently located in Central Maui, Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant is a favorite among Kama'aina and visitors alike. Our award-winning restaurant offers an enticing menu of island-inspired cuisine along with spectacular views of Ma'alaea Harbor. It's the
Went here with my family during an aquarium trip. We walked in at about 1:30pm and were seated right away. About the atmosphere. Although this is an aquarium restaurant, don't expect a theme gimmick like a huge glass tank to gaze at sharks and rays circling about, like the restaurants at UShaka in South Africa, The Seas at Disney Epcot, or Seaworld. Here, the dining area was set outdoors and uncovered, offering every table an unobstructed, picturesque view of Ma'alaea Harbor and the Bay. Those who may be averse to birds at close proximity, take note: there were free range chickens about. They didn't bother us (other than one of us who happens to have a phobia-like dislike of birds) but they weren't shy about almost brushing us by underfoot. I was impressed with the menu. Aside from the typical offerings found at attractions like this, which target mainland palates, like burgers and such, it included quite a few seafood and fish items, going with the aquarium theme, and some hints of local cuisine, such as a mac nut crusted mahi mahi and a mango-hoisin baby back ribs dish. I went with the fish and chips and it turned out to be quite good. I heard positive feedback around the table about the ribs and the teriyaki chicken. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the server was friendly and attentive. The dishes were brought out in a timely manner and our needs were taken care of well. It should be noted that not every aquarium has an on-site restaurant, not even the larger ones. Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta (the largest aquarium in Western hemisphere currently), and Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey are quite larger attractions, but neither features a full service restaurant. Georgia's has a cafeteria. New Jersey's has a quick service food court. New England Aquarium in Boston has an upscale seafood restaurant & bar that is open seasonal only and has a bigger price point. To compare this with another full service restaurant at a comparable price point that happened to be the only one of its kind available at its particular attraction, I can only think of Hersheypark Place, which was at a theme park rather than an aquarium. It has permanently shut down recently, perhaps due to the mediocre food and the sluggish service. Fortunately, it is easily outclassed by Seascape. All in all, I was impressed with this aquarium restaurant. Unassuming, gimmick-free, reasonable prices, a menu that tries to include local flavors, quality food, great view and atmosphere. For what it is, I'd recommend this for a lunch break during an aquarium visit. The aquarium is better for having this restaurant in it.

We had seen this place on a best breakfast places in Maui. It was great. It is a hole in the wall diner - does not look that nice from the outside or inside but great food and even better value. Got their banana hotcake (pancakes) and they were amazing. They are big, I ordered it and a side of eggs since I thought it wouldn't be enough. I barley finished the pancakes, but had to because they are amazing.Hi, we really appreciate your feedback and such kind words! We're looking forward to serving you again.
