Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar is located in a beautifully restored plantation manor on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. Dating back to the 1930's, the estate once served as the plantation manager's home for Hawaii's first sugar plantation, the Koloa pl
I recently worked with Amy Evans with a small group private dinner at Plantation Gardens Restaurant. She made the whole planning process easy planning from Nebraska. The chef's and staff made an AMAZING dinner with delicious options for our unusual special requests of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free special diets. The patio dining was lovely, the servers were amazing and it was a stress free lovely evening. My compliments to all.

I have been for lunch and wine with friends and for dinner, poolside with friends and family. This place has easy access and parking for an SUV full of people. There is table side service and pick up for pool tables as well. Hostesses are extremely friendly and offer Kama'aina prices. My husband loves the fish and chips; the burgers are great and my KETO committed kids got what they desired as well. Koloa Landing is great for a staycation - but even if you are not using the pool - it is such a nice atmosphere for happy hour and early dinner as the colors kiss the warm tradewind blown sky

We stopped by Merriman's during happy hour for a pina colada and a Big Wave on draft last week. What was really nice about the experience was that there was a small band just outside (guitar, ukelele and bass) singing Hawaiian songs. Worth a stop! 3 1/2 stars.

We had the burger which is incredible! We've been eating seafood every day and we needed something else and this was it! Also had the shrimp and pork belly appetizer and lastly the cheesecake desert. Also, the mixed drinks were great. We will come back and try more of the menu. Prices are fair and our server Kaya was the best.Mahalo for the 5-star review! We will share your awesome comments with our service and culinary team. We can't wait for you to come back and experience a few more of our tasty menu items!

My wife and I had dinner at Royâs Eating House 1849 in Koloa in late September 2019. My wife had the Butterfish bowl and I had the Blacken Ahi. My Ahi was excellent however, my wifeâs Butterfish was fishy tasting and disappointing. Our service was slow for reasons never explained to us. Royâs is expensive and it is nice to treat yourself to a great meal occasionally but our dining experience was not special that evening. We have eaten at numerous Royâs before and will again as this dining experience was probably an anomaly. There is free parking nearby.

My husband and I made dinner reservations, which I recommend, since it gets very busy for dinner. The grounds around the restaurant are beautiful; feels like you are in the jungle. There was live music and service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Food was great, but the pina coladas were the best on the island. Try to get a table next to the open area -- we got to see some cool geckos!

I am a little confused as the reviews are so good. Cute location, super fast and friendly service. BUT the $4 cup of coffee was tiny - yes free refills but the cup was a joke - , the type you get at conventions but without a saucer or spoon, the small orange juice is served in a tiny small latte glass and my french toast was 1 slice only which came a little burnt and was so small that I thought 'where is the rest of it'? Usually portions in America are so enormous that I can never finish anything and usually wonder about all that waste of food. Here I left hungry and I am not a big eater to start with. One slice of small toast isn't really good enough. Felt a bit cheated.

We visited this place on the recommendation of a local. They also recommended the smoked meats there. I must say that they were delicious. However, I made the mistake of ordering the brisket which, while very tasty, was extremely fatty. Locals later told me that the pork was the better bet.
