We looked for some place to eat which would not be upscale but solid in terms of food, quality and reviews. This restaurant is in the middle of some shopping area, probably, would not have found it were it not for the reviews. We didn't see too many tourists, seemed mostly locals, which is a good sign for us. Menu is extensive and we ordered the short ribs, curry noodles and a pork dish. Must say food tasted amazing. Definitely an Asian/Philippine twist, perfectly seasoned and good portions. Very efficient service and nice staff. Good valu for money considering you are in Maui.

Maui is not a Mecca for Chinese food. There are a couple of Chinese restaurants if your completely bored with island food choices. Please donât expect an epicurean experience...we live on the west coast and Chinese food is generally good. So if you must, than do.. you will be fed...

Reading very positive reviews we ordered from Teppanyaki and did enjoy the meals. Watching the meals prepared was interesting but the price was expensive for what you got. The garlic rice is $4 more that regular and it was good but a bit greasy. The shrimp was fantastic but my husband did not enjoy his fish/steak combination which was quite expensive. The restaurant is take out only and open only a few hours each day. We waited outside while our meal was made and it seemed like the overhead of the business did not justify the price. I would have the shrimp again but probably not the garlic rice. Hope that helps.

We had eaten here previously and felt it was acceptable, a few years ago. This time we ordered takeout, 3 rolls. The Tempura roll had tempura that wasn't freshly prepared in it. The Spicy Salmon skin roll was OK and the unagi roll was fine, nothing special; the prices seemed high for the quality. We come from the San Francisco Bay area where we get excellent, fresh sushi frequently (even served at our wedding), so expected this to continue to be high quality, but not to be. We gave this a rating of poor, because the quality was average but the price was not worth it.

In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their F
Breakfast was super yummy and got me hooked- the Loco Moco, the noodles, the soufflé pancakes... YUM!!! And the setting is unbeatable but prices are super reasonable. And no wait!!!Came again for dinner and the wing appetizer was amazing, the mixed plate is an easy favorite and the chow fun was pretty good too!!

Serving Fresh House Made Noodles & Asian Specialties.
This restaurant is located in an industrial area, so not your typical beachfront setting. However, you will definitely need a reservation as it was full and had people waiting the night we went. This is one of those new Asian fusion restaurants with a mash-up of different Asian food culture with ramen, pho, thai, etc. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated promptly. Our waiter was gracious and informative. There are quite a few shared plate items in addition to the actual entrees. We could have filled up on the shared plates. We had the pork belly buns, which were delicious, and the Chinese broccoli, which tasty - more like sautéed bok choi. We had the Lahaina Fried Soup, which was not actually soup but was really good, and the Pad Thai, also good. We weren't too adventurous with our choices. The tables are really close together, so you are practically eating with your neighbors - but that also allowed you to see the plates and entrees they were getting - and all looked wonderful. I'd say this place is very moderately priced for Maui, but the portions were large. We enjoyed it and enjoyed the leftovers the next day!

The restaurant is quite small and located in Sheraton hotel. The menu is quite good and we choose for 160usd for two person some tasting menu. First was miso soup - reall good:) than we took filet mignon and extra lobster tail. Also we have vegetables and rice . Everything live cooking on teppan in front of You:) the show was really nice with some super effect. I liked it :)

This is a new restaurant that just opened on September 24, 2010
The place was very no frills and just a few tables with chairs. No ambiance or decor or anything hawaiian on the walls. The food was average as the vegetables with my tofu were cabbage, celery and onions. Nothing special and no chinese veggies such as bokchoy. The mixed plate was just plain and no flavors as lacked sauce and no garlic or spices were used.

First visit to Azeka's. We had always wanted to try but hadn't gotten around to it. They have a large menu. Most people get it to go because they only have a bar to sit at and a few outdoor tables. It was very warm inside with no air. The staff were very helpful and our food came out pretty quickly. The lemon chicken with capers, rice and grilled vegetables was really wonderful. Thanks for a good meal.

Japengo is sophisticated dining destination on Maui, featuring world-class steaks, seafood, and sushi. Japengo blends fresh locally-grown ingredients with the exotic flavors of the Pacific Rim. Enjoy indoor and outdoor patio seating, a chic sushi lounge,
Wow! What a wonderful welcome to Maui! The outside tables at Japengo have a stunning setting, especially at sunset! It doesn't hurt that the food and service were excellent. We started with a light appetizer at the bar, where service was quick and friendly~very aloha feeling. The live music provided added great ambiance. Then when we were walked to our table I was stunned and delighted with a front row seat to watch the sunset over the Pacific with the island of Lanai across the way.We had the chefs special sushi roll and sashimi platter for two. Everything was very fresh and highest quality. Highest recommendation!
