Our photographer, Will, was very accomadating and professional. Pictures were available for viewing the next day and there was zero pressure to purchase. We will definitely use Blinnk again!

Excellent luxury hotel on Oahu

Reviewed By LAIslandHopper

We have stayed here several times and we always love it. The service cannot be beat. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and all of your needs are met with a smile. My only complaint is the internet - this hotel is not cheap but you get what you pay for. However, the internet is very spotty and I don't think that we should have to pay another 25.00 per day for "upgraded" internet. Otherwise everything is wonderful, including the restaurants - Arancino was fantastic, as was Hoku's. Plumeria Room is beautiful and great for casual meals and breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel and would not stay anywhere else on Oahu.

Absolutely Stunning Hotel

We knew we didn’t want to drive the road to Hana in one day so we decided to stay the night. There wasn’t a wide selection of hotels so I was a little shocked at how much we were going to be spending for the night. But after staying I understand the cost. The hotel had everything. I almost felt like we were glamping. The room had a very rustic modern feel. The views were unbelievable. They have 2 pools, tennis courts, chip/put, basketball etc. Kind of wish we stayed more than 1 night to make use of all the amenities! The only con is that when we check in in at 6:30pm our room wasn’t ready yet.

Great place but a bit of confusion

Reviewed By jamiesF509XZ

Stayed for 10 nights at the end of May 2022. Booked 3 nights in the tower with an ocean view and 7 nights in one of the oceanfront cottages. The first 3 nights were good, the view was fantastic. The room itself was a bit small for a family of 4 though, there was no separation from the main room into the bathroom so no real privacy which makes it tough when you want the kids to sleep in. The beds were comfortable enough but small. After the first 3 nights we were ready to move into the cottage. We booked a deluxe oceanfront studio with is over 700 square feet and has a kitchen. Prior to arrival I had emailed the front desk a few times to confirm that we were ground floor oceanfront with a kitchen, never did they tell me that wasn't to be the case. The issue is that all of the ground floor rooms are smaller (around 375 square feet I think) and they do NOT have a kitchen. The upstairs room that they wanted to put us ion only has a small deck at the front of it which does not face the ocean. To see the ocean at all you need to look out the windows but you cant sit outside with the view which we did not want at all. After talking with the front desk we arranged to move to the smaller ground floor unit with the oceanfront patio. This is a smaller room with no kitchen so our plans to buy food to cook were out the door, we had to eat out for every meal as the ground floor unit has only a small beer fridge. We definitely got the sense that they mislead us and just want to get you there and they they deal with the issues, felt very sneaky. We got a slight discount taking the new room but nowhere near the extra we had to spend eating out. All that aside once we were settled in the ground floor room we loved it. The patio has a beautiful Ocean view and we could go from our private patio and be in the ocean in less than 30 seconds. My 12 year old actually timed it once and got there in 12 seconds running! The room is not big but the layout is better than the hotel tower as the bathroom is bigger and more private for changing without disturbing those who are sleeping. 2 double beds which is tight for a family of 4 but we made it work. The grounds are great, the restaurant is great, the drinks are great but expensive at $15 a drink. We used the pools a bit, they are fine but really nothing special. The ocean is the main draw here. It looks to be the best stretch of beach in the area, its truly awesome and the nightly sunsets cant be beat. The waves were enough where the kids could have some fun getting knocked around but nothing too crazy for the most part. Everything extra is a charge here, You want an umbrella on the beach for the day? $30...you want a 2 seater with a cover for the day? $65...etc...nothing is free here really but we knew Maui was expensive! A nice 15 minute walk one way down to Black Rock/Whalers Village area and about 20 minutes the other way to a nice stretch of hotels with bars, restaurants etc...we got around by Uber if we wanted to go farther out and it was never a problem. All in all an awesome stay but be aware of what room you are getting. I have also emailed the hotel for a detailed bill a few days ago but haven't heard back yet. Royal Lahaina can you please send me that? thanks

Beautiful grounds - short staffed

Reviewed By 19Cam

There is a lot of great stuff about this resort, I can see that once it was quite the jewel in the Hilton crown. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful. The landscaping team have done an amazing job maintaining and caring for the gardens. The entire ambiance of the external property and location is great. The staff we met and interacted with were great, across the resort they genuinely seemed to care and go out of their way to deliver excellent service. We were staying in Makai tower, the room was adequate but not a ‘luxury resort’ experience. There were a few nice touches like the toiletries and the leis but everything else was very generic. From the room you wouldn’t know you were in Hawaii, it could have been Pittsburgh. The hotel seems to have some MAJOR staffing issues. The buffet breakfast was closed, the bar and restaurant hours of the open locations was limited. The staff that were working were totally swept off their feet and overworked. I understand that the cost of living in Hawaii is very high and it’s therefore difficult to fill jobs, but given Hilton’s scale, perhaps they should be looking at some more creative solutions like providing staff accommodations like ski resorts do. Some elements of the resort were quite tired and needed updating. The waterfalls at the pool were closed for maintenance. There was worn paint on hand rails, peeling wallpaper in rooms etc. Nothing major but not great. From an operational perspective this is one of the few Hilton properties both owned and operated by Hilton so there’s really no excuse for anything less than the standards defined in the brand manual. Finally - personal opinion but the ‘dolphin quest’ attraction should absolutely be shut down. I know the marketing spin about how they are helping the dolphins, they they are keeping wild animals in a tiny pen by the lagoon and it’s cruel. Shut it down and focus on running a top resort, you don’t need cruel animal attractions to be a great destination.

A Fabulous Resort

Reviewed By Ray A

This is by far, one of the most wonderful, super comfortable, fabulous hotels we have ever stayed in in Kona - Hawaii. Staff: We just about connected with most of the front desk staff during our 9-day stay. They were all truly helpful, most friendly and just superb in every way. The valet staff were always getting our car quickly. They were courteous, respectful and attentive. The room service staff were always amazingly helpful, attentive and most thoughtful!!! We loved them all. Hotel Grounds: As you walk through the lobby there is a beautiful open view of the ocean. Just about anywhere in the grounds the hotel has a what I called “my own space”, where one can sit, relax and enjoy the ocean view. These “spaces” even had an outlet for charging your laptop and or a PDA. The Beach: Access to the beach is very convenient and easy to get to. The hotel provides all the towels you need, chairs and umbrella right on the beach. You can relax and then go for a swim. The snorkeling is absolutely wonderful!!! Yes, you get to see the beautiful sea turtles. I recommend to go snorkeling early in the morning and then get out of the water by around 10:30 before the tides come in. Hotel Pools: Two pools, one for the adults and the other for the kids. Plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs. The water is wonderfully warm and very clean. Restaurants: They have a quick grab and go restaurant that also had terrific coffee and tea. They have a formal buffet restaurant as well, where you can also order either a continental and or full breakfast. For lunch: They have a bar and a pub food that you can order. You can also sit by the pool and order food to be brought by the poolside. For dinner, they have a formal restaurant called the Meridia, great food and cocktails. We truly had a wonderful time staying at the Westin Hapuna Beach. To us the staff’s warm hospitality made our stay extra special!!!
