Lovely restaurant. We passed by it on our drive through town, and not wanting a heavy dinner decided to give it a try. Service was fabulous. Food was lovely. Everything was made from scratch on premises - no "prep" foods. Wine list is outstanding. We asked for the waiter to put together a nice wine selection for us to sample and he gave us at least one local wine, which we ended up buying at their wine store. Many of their foods and wines are imported from Europe and other places. I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars.
We dropped into The Vineyard for a late lunch on a cold December afternoon. The food was delicious and the wine choice very impressive. Unfortunately, as I was driving I could have only one glass, from the large selection available but it was excellent nonetheless.
The crab soup was delicious, as was the duck confit salad and prosciutto and fig flatbread.
The bar has a friendly feel and there is a cozy room next door with a sofa and fireplace for an even more relaxed atmosphere.

If you enjoy home made bread, donuts, cakes, danish, etc stop in. The cheese cake is made fresh and when its gone they don't have anymore. Request a loaf of Vienna Bread or the mini turnovers. All home made and best quality and taste.

Bomboy's Candy
I stop in often to get a box of mixed chocolates. They are the best! Milk chocolate and dark chocolate are available in different varieties. From covered walnuts to delicious salted caramels. The customer service is exceptional. Other candies are available also and do t forget about their ice cream store across the street.

Good place to take a break from antiquing. Great place to find out what's going on in the community, meet people or (here's a thought) enjoy a very good coffee.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to DC. It was a first time. Indicating that we were not lingering, our lunch was served promptly and courteously by our waitress Terry. I had a chicken cordon bleu sandwich which was crispy and tender. The fries were good. I had the chocolate meringue pie for dessert since it was free on Thursday. It tasted like a good chocolate pudding, but the crust left something to be desired. That said, I do make one of the best pie crusts, so I set a high bar. My husband enjoyed his lunch as well. We would stop here again when traveling.

Overlook the price, this is what specialty is all about. Amazing Macaroons in the French style. Incredible flavor, great bite after a meal to satisfy that sweet need. Amazed this in Havre de Grace as it should be in DC, Philly, or NYC. AMAZING! Best local ever.

Casual dinning restaurant with New Orleans flare. Open 11 am, Wednesday thru Sunday, serving lunch & dinner along with daily happy hour. House smoked meats
Celebrating my birthday, my wife and I had a very good meal here. Our server, Melissa, was very pleasant. We each started with a glass of wine (prices a little better than average). The corn muffins served as an appetizer were enjoyable.
My wife had the Jambalaya, served with Maque Choux, which was a corn side dish. The portion was enormous, served with bowtie pasta (also available with Cajun rice). There was plenty of sausage. My wife did find it a little on the spicy side.
I had the red beans and rice, another New Orleans favorite, with black-eyed peas on the side. My plate was also very full, served with plenty of beans, rice and sausage. Very tasty, and a little spicy. The restaurant also included a small chicken breast with each of our plates (they normally charge extra, so that was a very nice plus from them).
We each brought home leftovers to enjoy later. The prices are very reasonable.
Backfin's is a definite improvement over the predecessor restaurant, Chiparelli's. We are happy to add Backfin's to our set of choices when we come to Havre de Grace.

Love the view, love the atmosphere - and ESPECIALLY love the gluten-free crabcake which only recently became available. Fantastic! Not inexpensive but I always enjoy it here.
