The castle is an old mansion located 9 km from the sea, near Saint Valery sur Somme, 15 km from Mers-les-Bains / TreportThe building is surrounded by a park of 11000 m2 closed and includes a cottage and 5 rooms with different themes (for 2 to 4 people as bedrooms ).
The hosts Dominique and Jerome were most welcoming and helpful. Our one week stay was very enjoyable. We found the chateau a good base for the attractions of the bay of the Somme although it is in a very rural location. (By the way do not expect a castle when you see the word "chateau", but an interesting country house). The rooms are comfortable and each one is individualistically furnished and decorated. The breakfasts are first class with bread and pastries fresh from the bakery. The shared breakfast table offers a good opportunity to meet your fellow guests. We enjoyed food of a high standard on the evenings we had prearranged to dine in. The Kota grill indoor barbecue is a must if you are staying a few days - a true meat feast. The property features a sauna and a spa pool which we did not use. There is no swimming pool. The enterprising host also runs a quad bike business on site, and he is a member of a local blues band.

This residence offers heated trailers, chalet-style installed in the heart of a park on the banks of the River Bresle in Picardy. Located in Beauchamps, it is just 10 km from the beach. Each trailer Domaine Du Place God comes with a terrace with garden furniture. Each has a dining room equipped with a HD TV and a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. They also have a private bathroom with shower. A continental breakfast is served each morning and a bar also awaits you there. Le Domaine Du Place God has a playground for children and is just 45 minutes drive from the town of Dieppe, on the seafront. Activities on site and in the area include horse riding and fishing. Free private parking is available on site and the residence offers free Wi-Fi in public areas.
Alarm beeping all night, passive aggressive elderly lady at the desk, two forks for three, I had to make the beds and was told that it was to save on the costs with the cleaners when wondered about it, teen caps yelling all evening a meter from our « peaceful quiet lodging », the place has a potential but unfortunately the experience was ghastly. The only peaceful place could possibly be the floating house’s far from the riding spot. Very unpleasant experience.

Stayed here on business whilst working near Lille and was not disappointed - my only gripe was that the rooms are very hot at night due to there being no air conditioning but to be fair I read this in the reviews before I booked. Thomas who works in reception area and pretty much runs this place gets 5 stars. There is no dining area but if you ask Thomas he will organise a dinner tray for you and bring it to your room - I had salmon one night and chicken on another and it was very good and very reasonably priced. breakfast is included in the booking and again it is served in the room (left outside door) and changes from day to day. fruit, tea cereal, croissants etc. very good. the pool is also available and relaxing after a day at the office. towels, flip flops and dressing gown are provided in the room so you can change before leaving the room. changing facilities are available by the pool if your prefer. I was leaving too early for breakfast on the Friday morning but Thomas sorted this by providing me with a breakfast tray on the Thursday night. the rooms are all fairly well sized with big bathrooms. rooms have access to tea and coffee with fresh water from bottles on the landing area. all in all a good stay.

Towels were quite rough. Bed very hard and not comfortable to sleep in. Set in a beautiful location and very easy to find. If a few changes were made it is certainly good value for money. The food was lovely and the cost was very reasonable.

Chateau de Clermont is a wonderful place and a great choice - especially if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. With the quality of any good 3 star hotel, it is so much more personal, welcoming and cosy than any hotel that I've stayed at and so much better quality than many B&B's that I've seen. The rooms are cozy, spacious and artistically decorated with finesse and fine taste, which gives each room a unique feel. Agnès, the lady of the manor, is a gifted painter and her paintings give the chateau a special touch. The whole place is family run (with one of the sons being the cook!) and the care and togetherness is felt throughout. The dinner (table d'hôte) is wonderful and tasty - with very fresh ingredients (some from the garden!) and prepared with care. With an entree, plat, fromage and delicious (self made) desert, it is (ful)filling and very reasonably priced. The breakfast is excellent. One of the daughter's is opening a spa soon next to the indoor swimming pool. The chateau has its own walled garden, which gives it quietness and feeling of being in a little oasis. The sound of the wind through the trees is utterly relaxing. The landscape around is not superb, but within 10-30 minutes by car, there are hills and forests to be enjoyed. The family is very warm and welcoming. The personal touch and feel of this Chambre d'Hôte is truly unique and I'm definitely coming back here!

My husband booked a roulotte here for our last night in France (we'd been holidaying for a month) and he said that he'd saved something special for our last night...and that he had! Having struggled a little to find it we arrived at tea time and were amazed by the quirkiness of the accommodation-our 6 and 3 year old were so excited to explore the roulotte! They desperately wanted to stay longer but we were catching the tunnel back to England the next morning so it was a very brief visit. It was a pity that it was raining as the setting was very pretty. On our way to the tunnel we realised that our youngest hadn't got his beloved teddy bear so we presumed it had fallen down the side of the bed-I contacted Patrice on our return to England and he very kindly sent it to us in the post. The roulotte was very comfortable and cosy. Our only criticism would be that the shower was not at all powerful. We would definitely like to return there!

The chat perché offers both rooms (as bed & breakfast) and appartments from a single night to a week or more. We found it through the "gites de france" site and were very pleased with the quality of the room and the friendliness of the hosts. Also, we had to get the ferry to England the next morning at 7.30am and the owner brought breakfast to our room at 6.30am, which was really nice.
There is another owner for a few weeks now and they are renovating and updating the place, which is a good thing. A bit of maintenance has to be done, but I'm sure they will in the following weeks. Than it will be very good price-quality. :) Close to the beach.

120 km of beaches, dunes and cliffs, between the Somme and Belgium, amazing natural sites and historical places moving ... It is in this beautiful setting that you can relax and stay at the Village Club Mileade Merlimont.
It would appear there has been little investment over the years to update the facilities. I imagine in its heyday this was 'the place' but now is looking tired and in need of a facelift. The quiet site itself is well tended and the brick built chalets are well spaced amongst the trees. Games are provided at intervals e.g. boules/badminton etc. The chalet we had was basic with kitchen and 2 bedrooms. One double bed in one room and one room with 2 single beds. The double was comfortable but the singles not great for 2 adults. The kitchen was equipped with crockery and cutlery but no tea towels or detergent. The main drawback was that there was no settee or place to sit comfortably inside. The shower worked well once you mixed the right temperature. It was clean but just in need of TLC. Bearing in mind the area this could be a gold mine.
