We ate breakfast here after biking in from Harrisville State Park. Was clean and staff was friendly. Food was good. Not cheap, four breakfasts, 2 cups of coffee (it was not good), and a lemonade was $40. Homemade bread for sale and a small market are attached. Would eat here again.

Peach Smoothie is to die for! OR If you want coffee, this is the place for you. The owner is very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the area. If you're in Harrisville, you need to stop by Alcona Coffee Company for Coffee OR a fruit smoothie or Ice Cream OR Fresh Italian Soda in a variety of flavors - Watermelon, Blueberry, Cherry, and about 20 more - Each one is made to order with the most amazing flavors. You won't be sorry you stopped!

Authentic, homemade, Michigan U.P. pasties. We serve them hot for dining in or take out OR fully cooked fresh or frozen, ready to reheat at home. We also serve a generous selection of homemade pies by the slice or whole pie.
We were pleased to hear about this place. We were planning on going to the Upper Peninsula, but were having too much fun in Harrisville. We thought "darn, no pasties", so this was a pleasant surprise. We were amazed at the size, a huge pasty for a good price. If you're used to the usual diced/cubed fillings, the somewhat shredded (for lack of a better term) might throw you, but the taste... man, it's there! Excellent crust too, probably the best I've had. We got 2 beef with rutabaga, 2 chicken. Everyone was very pleased with their choices. Good gravies here too. (We got the corresponding gravy for each flavor pasty.)
We were almost sorry we'd gotten slices of pie, as we were so full, but the first forkful made us glad we did. Banana cream was heavenly, and those that had cherry and strawberry-rhubarb were happy too. Get some pie! So good! Note that their pies are popular, so whole ones can sell out earlier in the day.
We also got a couple breakfast pasties for the next day, and darn it, they too were great. A complete breakfast in a pasty. I've had them elsewhere, but I gotta say, these are my new favorite. Good flavor, just filling enough to start the day.
This will be a regular stop for us when in Harrisville, or even the surrounding area. Good food, good prices, and nice folks running the place.
We did to-go, but they have a nice peaceful dining area too.

My elder brother introduced this local gem to me several years ago. It has become a favorite. The staff is always friendly (which translates to good service all of the time). The menu represents traditional home cooked meals and is consistent. Breakfasts are the best. Lunches and dinners are good as well. You won't be disappointed.

We stopped in for dinner one night while visiting the area in the dead of winter and had a very pleasant meal. It is definitely a cut above your average places in the area. It may look a little line a high scale diner, but the food is much better than diner grub. I'd visit again!

Food was great, it was very busy and we did wait a few minutes to be seated. Our waitress must have been new, she did not write orders down and the food came to us incorrect for multiple meals. It was quickly fixed and apologies offered. Overall seems like a great family spot. Did not have your typical "bar" atmosphere.

They will serve any dish at any time all day long. Also will accommodate special dietary restrictions which is much appreciated. The taco salad is the best. Almost more than you can eat. Staff is friendly and fast.

Stopped by on the way further north. We both ended up with the cod since the perch was sold out for the night. The cod was excellent and pretty good sized pieces. The baked potato was a bit undercooked and hard but still good. The clam chowder that came with it was forgotten but my wife really wanted it so we asked and it was brought out. We were glad too because it was fantastic with great spice flavor to it. Good meal overall

Stopped on our way through to Alpena. The kids had Cheesy Potato soup in a bread bowl. I had a patty melt on marble rye. Husband had a Turkey Ruben. We weren't feeling adventurous enough for the elk or bison burgers. Everything was good. Service was great. We'd stop again. Lots of wildlife in the walls so if that kind of thing bothers you, just a heads up.
