Reviews on Eastern European food in Tallinn, Harju County, Estonia. Tallinn's atmospheric Old Town is an enthralling hodgepodge of medieval streets and spires. It's a small city, and the tourist areas are safe and easily explored on foot. Buy a Tallinn Card if intending to use buses, trolleys or trams. For a look into Tallinn's past, visit Rocca-al-Mare Open Air Museum's typical rural Estonian taverns, windmills and watermills, see the onion-domed 1900 cathedral or join the bustle in historic Town Hall Square. St. Olav's spire was once the tallest in the world.

The soups are great but they also have lots of meat, fish and blinis options. Itâs not expensive, fast and very tasty - with a Russian twist.

Boho is a new cafe-cocktail bar located in Tallinn Old Town. With one of a kind atmosphere, Babulja offers the best blinis and fresh homemade pastries. House infused vodkas & original cocktails available. The place is open for late breakfast and evenings.
First of all we though that we go to a different place but getting in we realised that we actually came to this one but there was no visible mark for this. The service now was terrible...horrific..it took them veeery long time for everything..from coming to take the order to bring the food.. then one guy's dish was forgotten and it took them a million years to even bring the receipt. The food was very salty and we were not satisfied.. definitely we will never come to this place again...Dear Mike P!Thank You for your review. Please know that we take Your feedback very seriously and will do everything we can so this wouldn't happen again. We're very sorry for all the inconveniences. With kind regards,Babulja family

Now already a seven years ago head chefs Roman and Igor decided to quit their careers pursuing high end gastronomy goals and to go back to their culinary roots. Thus Moon was born. We try to be as simple and down to earth as possible, sometimes it seems t
I was hopefull that all the reviews of the place were honest. And they turned out to be just that! The food was just as delicious as said. The service even better than said (a special thanks to Mik (junior) for taking such good care of my daughter and myself). The only reason I did not give 5* is that the place was very noisy. Have you ever concidered some acoustic elements? If not the noisiness of the place, we would have had a full 3 course dinner instead of just having the main course. After a full day of sightseeing and shopping we would have enjoyed a nice relaxed dinner. This time we just couldn't stand the echo and settled for just one. Unfortunately, since the food was really good...Thank you so much for your kind words! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our restaurant. Sorry to hear that it was noisy for you. We did have a full house, so it tends to get noisier when that happens. Therefore sorry to hear that you could only stay for main coarse. And thank you for your recommendation to consider using acoustic elements.Hope to see you back in the future!

I love how the menu changes regularly at this restaurant - they explain that the chef selects the menu based on what is available locally everyday. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about where the ingredients are sourced and the preparation. They were also good at suggesting wines to pair with each course. I started with a local trout called Gravad and it had a great flavor - a wonderful way to start a meal. My main dish was the filet, and it was well-cooked. The sauce had a bit too much onion flavor, but that is my only complaint. For dessert I had the oat milk ice cream, which was to die for - super refreshing and a great way to end a meal. It's very important to book here in advance - I ate here on a Monday at 6 pm in mid September and it was sold out the entire evening. I booked the previous day and could only get the 6pm slot. Note also that I was a solo diner and was treated very well. Finally, the value here was incredible. With tip, I spent less than 50 Euro. In Dallas, this meal would have been well over $100 per person.

Believe it or not, but itâs good to be in âPórguâ. An unbelievably large selection of draught beers and their bottled cousins, unearthly delicious aÌ la carte dishes and an almost holy atmosphere. All this makes âPórguâ seem like a paradise on earth, wher
Situated in the basement, a lovely place to try different high strength beers. The food was good and the portion sizes big. we had garlic bread as starters and it was huge enough for two people. I had chicken which was really tasty. My wife had the salmon, which was well made and quite filling. Would recommend it for everyone but not with children.the stairs leading down are quite steep.

Fine-Dining
While visiting Tallin we passed this restaurant on our way back to our ship, the Celebrity Silhouette, and decided it looked a lovely terrace and menu for lunch. We ordered two different salads and shared them. The creamy burrata with tomatoes and strawberries was delicious as was the green salad with pomegranate and walnuts, accompanied by lovely breads, sparkling water and a couple of glasses of Pouilly-Fume. Service was very good, friendly and efficient.Overall a very enjoyable lunchtime experience.

Grenka has managed to turn into the go to place for tourists and instagrammers due to its decor, though the âtraditionalâ Russian meals are just âokayâ. The service is slow, usually rushed (despite everything taking so long to get). The pastries by the till are quite nice though, but there are many other similar restaurants locally that offer the same at better prices. The only thing I can highly recommend though, are the dumplings.

What an enjoyable restaurant. Our only problem was that we felt we should make a reservation at around 5pm for that evening. We checked the internet and found that the only openings were for 8:30 or later. My wife phoned and was told they were all full. I called and was also told that they were full but I said that the internet showed that I can book for two at 8:30 but I was hoping for a bit earlier. They said to book for tomorrow but I said that we would be gone and we were hoping to come tonight. She said that as it was just two, she could fit us in at 7pm, which was perfect. Our shock was getting there at 7:00 and finding the restaurant only at most 20% full. Through the evening the most occupied it got was half full.We were given a wonderful table, that could seat four, and took the two seats on one side facing the kitchen, which is a glassed in âdisplay kitchenâ in the middle of the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have their own beer which is brewed just for them and was exceptionally good. The dinner was exceptionally well and included some dishes for those of us who are interested in trying dishes that are not on all menus lie rabbit and duck. We enjoyed the lamb and the duck as main courses and finished with the Estonian Bread Soup dessert.Looking forward to trying it again on our next visit.

We booked this restaurant ahead of visiting Tallinn because it was so highly ranked in TripAdvisor but our experience was far better than we could have expected. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, without being intrusive to your evening. There is a fine selection of wine, and whilst we hadnât sampled many of the menu choices before, our waitress was very enthusiastic and obliging in helping us select our dishes. I would particularly recommend the braised elk roast for main, and warm chocolate cake for dessert as these dishes particularly stood out. The atmosphere is very cool and relaxed, and the décor is befitting to such a mellow place. We were very pleasantly surprised by the bill too, as for what Iâd describe as a fine dining experience, the prices are extremely reasonable! To sum up: Delicious food, exceptional service, great value for money and I would have no hesitation in going back on my next visit to Tallinn.
