Have just spent a night at this fabulous lodge between etosha and the noordoewer border. The perfect place to stop. The rooms are stylish and have everything you need. Loved sitting on the verandah and taking in the scenary. Wifi worked very well at the main reception and restaurant and bar but we couldn't pick it up in our room. The staff are incredibly friendly. Breakfast was buffet and had a huge choice. We enjoyed drinks in the bar , around the fireplace and then the delicious buffet spread for dinner. The pork and lamb chops were out of this world. We would highly recommend you stop over here.

Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge is situated on a red sand dune overlooking a pan system that forms part of the upper Auob wetlands. It is here that one can experience all the romance, all the adventure of the early safari expeditions but with style. The Lodge comprises twelve luxurious walk-in-style tents, well secluded in the Kalahari savannah. Each tent offers a private deck and an intimate open air bathroom with hot and cold running water, flush toilet and shower. A cozy African-style lounge overlooking the vast grassy pans of the Auob river or the pool deck is the perfect setting for drinks and meals.
We stayed here for one night in the honeymoon suite as we were the only guests. What a treat. We had our own pool looking out over the waterhole. We saw springbok, giraffe and wildebeest. We were looked after so well - despite being the only people there. Dinner was so special - they put a table outside at the lodge by the pool with candles. What an exclusive setting. Food was delicious. They catered for me being a non meat eater too. What is not to love about it all. Reginald looked after us like royalty. Such a lovely man. We had to leave early (en route to the Fish River Canyon) before breakfast as we had a long drive laden with rusks and fruit!

The location is great-beautiful view. Unfortunately we stayed only one night. Certainly worthwhile to stay at least 2 days to visit the surroundings and the farm. Jochem is a super friendly host and has a lot of stories to tell. Breakfast great - diner baie lekker !

Hostess was VERY efficient. The curtains could not easily be opened - valance on pole - cannot be moved. Breakfast was average - the hot food is being prepared long before eating time - no choice in egg preparation and coffee cold. All else was good.

The Dunes Lodge is perched on top of a dune plateau, overlooking panoramic vistas in all directions & capturing the beauty of the desert. The building style is a combination of wooden structures and canvas blinds, opening up to the desert beyond. The lodge reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. Each of the nine spacious chalets with en-suite bathrooms has a private verandah, which connects you to vast stretches of untouched sand. Sleeping with your canvas blinds open is like sleeping under the stars. The main complex consists of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, the wine cellar and two dining rooms. The lodge also has a swimming pool, suspended above the sand. All communal areas of the lodge open out onto decks with superb views. The variety of recreational space makes a visit both exciting & relaxing. To make the most of your view, we recommend staying three nights.
We have travelled fairly extensively, and Wolwedans has one of the most spectacular settings of any lodge we have seen. The tents are amazingly comfortable, particularly for a location this remote. The staff -- well, they are simply the best. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there and hated to leave. You won't be disappointed. A truly magical place.

Coming from the kilometer long access road you really feel like arriving in an oasis. Really green with 3 cheetahs, an ostrich and more animals beloning to the place. The food was amazing and the staff is very lovely and friendly. The cheetahs are fed every evening and this is amazing to watch. We definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Five air-conditioned rooms/units with off-street parking and free Wi-fi. Ideal for all travelers starting their southern Namibia tour.
the guesthouse is very beautiful; each room has its small place of garden in the middle of plants. The welcome of the owner is very warm, excellent advice for walks and restaurants; romantic breakfast on a white tablecloth and I recommend scrambled eggs!...just delicious!

I was skeptical because the entrance to this place seemed so small. But I have to admit, of all the places we went home in these 10 days from Namibia through to South Africa, it was the best place to stay. The prices are very reasonable, service is excellent, place is spacious, clean and everything one could ask for before. Also mattresses for our grandchildren who traveled with us. Thank you very much, would definitely not choose another place to sleep in Mariental again.
