Glad we turned around and came back. Good lunch break setting on the outside patio/deck. Ordered our lunch at the inside counter. Had the Gunther sandwich with chips. Very good and we split it. Staff was friendly and atmosphere rustic with old movie photos on the wall. There is a parking lot but small.

Live about 5 minutes from The Dutcman and visit every couple of months just to see what new items they have. Their pecan and cashew brittle is perfect, but addictive in a good way. When we go to visit family in California we take some with us. Good place to pick last minute gifts or have a sandwich for the road.

All their meats and sandwiches are great, but they have the best pulled pork sandwich you are going to find in Texas! Always fresh and savoy! Great for to go orders, store is too small to sit and eat with a group.

We stopped here on our way between Kerrville and Dallas and the service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The food was served up quick, we went through the drive in, and it was average, moderate quality. One of those, ok it filled the hole in the stomach, nothing to write home about. We got a quick burger and not any of the items DQ is really known for-desserts and such. But it was relatively inexpensive and there are not all that many quick choices in this small town.

Storm's Hamburgers

Just passing through on the way from Austin to Dallas (yes, taking the back roads) and we always try to stop at one of the three remaining Storm's. We like the Hamilton location with the indoor dining. Order at the counter (and, leave a tip in the tip jar), go to your table or booth and wait for your number to be called. We just waved and the staff brought it to our table.
My hubby and I each had ice tea (great ice!) and an order of fries and a hamburger and a cheeseburger "all the way". We got our burger fix! Yum!

El Jardin

Have been here numerous times, tonight was disappointing. Food was mediocre, service was almost nonexistent. Found out after our food was brought out that apparently there are two different fajita meals on the menu. We were expecting a wonderful sizzling cast iron skillet that grabs your attention and awakens the senses, we got bland on a cold plate. Hot plate for hot food should always be the way food is served. Waitress did not clarify that there was a difference, needless to say we did not get the Fajitas we were expecting. Makes a difference in the experience when your senses are awakened by the wonderful aroma of sizzling meat, peppers and onions on cast iron. I would have a hard time recommending after tonight. Difference in the two in the pictures.

Taco Loco

Reviewed By Charrie S - Ardmore, Oklahoma

We traveled along Hwy 281 from Oklahoma to San Antonio and were looking for good Mexican food along the way and stopped here from the Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. It's easy to miss because it's such a small place right along the highway as you're leaving town (traveling south).

The salsa is delicious (not too hot), and we purchased a small queso which was equally delicious but more spicy than the hot sauce.

My husband got the Burrito Texas with beef and said it was fantastic because the meat was marinated perfectly. I got the Puffy Tacos and they too were delicious. They are filled with hamburger meat, and I could have used a bit less of it but the puffy taco itself was my favorite part. I did notice while I was eating one the other one got soggy on the bottom, probably from too much meat as I was saying. It also didn't come with rice and beans so I added that.

We will definitely be stopping here the next time we come through Hamilton. It's such a cute little town with an impressive courthouse too.

Nita's & Glen's BBQ

We visited because of the reviews, but were disappointed. Brisket was tender but lacked flavor, was sweet and had little bark. It tasted like it was cooked yesterday and left in watered down juices. Pork ribs were dry and tough. The potato salad and beans were very tasty . We did not try any desserts.

Our friends had a chopped beef sandwich and sausage wrap. The sauce on the chopped was sweet and not to her liking, but the sandwich was large and filled with meat. The sausage wrap was a hit.

The portions were generous and prices were reasonable.

Of course, the Hamilton China Wok is the only Chinese eatery in town, but they don't slow down because of that. Their food is served hot and tasty. Everything is cooked to order, so it takes a few minutes, but no so long you would notice and complain. Well prepared, large portions and a varied menu. One of the good places to eat in Hamilton County.

Crossfire Steakhouse & Cantina

Reviewed By TexasChikinPunkin - Texas

I am saying average on the food based on what I had. The special Friday night was ribs. I am used to ribs with BBQ sauce on them and these had a brown gravy with grilled onions. Almost like a Salisbury steak like gravy.
The couple I was with had the steak and they said the steak was the best they have had in a long time.
