The Tortilla Press is a little different in a town with many Italian restaurants, and it was a nice change. We walked in with a party of 2 a little after 6 on a Saturday. Restaurant was a bit crowded and loud, but when a larger party left that settled down. Food was very good, and portions generous. The sweet potato empanada was excellent and very flavorful, as were the plantains. My main, the scallops, were tasty. Prices reasonable. Makes for a new pre-show meal (we went to the Scottish Rite auditorium). Very friendly service with fresh and tasty Mexican food in a casual setting.They have horchata but not jaimica tea but a good assortment of Mexican sodas.Typical mexican fare and the prices are reasonable.The food is very nicely prepared. Call ahead or order via their website and you can pick your good up to go. Specials, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, they have lots of choices.

I was just there this past weekend with a core group of friends (we try to eat at different establishments each month when we get together for dinner). The modern rustic decor is really cool. There are a number of booths and tables throughout. Since we were there on a Saturday night, the place was packed and we had to wait a bit for a table. They also have high-top tables with stools but I couldn't imagine feeling comfortable sitting on one of the stools for any length of time. It was extremely noisy and hard to hear each other talk.I ordered the Mexican Street Bowl salad (as did another friend; she added chicken to hers while I kept mine vegetarian). The dressing is very good (chipotle lime vinaigrette) but it has some heat to it. The other four ladies each ordered three tacos; they're small. A number of the tacos have some heat to them and they were struggling to finish them due to the heat. FYI that the servers bring the food out piecemeal, so one friend may be eating while the others were waiting for their food to be brought out. They make up the tacos in multiples, so they'll bring out the same taco at the same time, all on the same plate.The majority of the group ordered margaritas and they raved about them. We also order some guac and chips, which was good. In addition, we also spilt the nachos (vegetarian) and they were just delicious. I honestly could have eaten that as my dinner!For dessert, we split the churros and also the shortbread skillet cookie. They were just ok for me.The service was phenomenal and our server was super friendly.The parking lot is TINY. They have street parking but it's a little tough with the traffic.I would love it if they had more vegetarian options but overall, this is a cool place.

Even though you have to wait a bit, itâs totally worth it. Had the guacamole as an appetizer and even the ten year old loved it. Had the tacos â they were authentic and yummy. Very clean and nice server.
