Tiny, cozy spot with tasty sandwiches. Grilled ham and cheese (called hot pig) was great, lots of delicious, locally made ham. Pork Sandwich also great. Homemade soups, pasta salad, and pies very good. Service very friendly. If you want a river view, get you food to go. Benches with wonderful views of the river and lock just outside the door.

I Was Staying In Marquette, IA and wanted something other than the Casino Buffet. Well apparently EVERYTHING in this town closes VERY early even on Saturday. So we looked on trip advisor and found this pizza place. It was a 30 minute drive but it was worth it, the pizza is amazing and the 2 girls working were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and when and if I'm back in the area I will be returning.

The dam isn't huge and spectacular but it and the river make some very pleasant scenery. Food wasn't spectacular either but was good quality pub fare.

I can't speak for their noon and evening meals, but this is a great place to have breakfast. It's conveniently located right on Highway 52 in Guttenburg, a terrific little town with an expansive park fronting on the Mississippi River. On my last visit, a Saturday morning at 9:30, the parking lot was filled with cars, a testament to the popularity of their breakfast menu. I typically get the "loaded" breakfast with 2 eggs, hash browns, toast and 4 link sausages, and its always cooked well, although I wish the chef wouldn't use quite so much cooking oil. I have always gotten the same waitress and she's is a gem, friendly and helpful.

Fun help, good service, nice atmosphere. Great Bloody Mary. Good place to watch a game. Try the cheeseburger. No regrets!

We stopped in here last weekend for a cold beer and some fried cheese curds while we took a break from viewing the spectacular leaves in the area. Talked with some friendly people and got our thirst quenched before moving on from this pretty little stop.

This is a new restaurant in the lovely town of Guttenberg on the banks of the Mississippi R. in NE Iowa. The new owners are very friendly and have worked to restore the building into a very welcoming cafe and gift shop. There is also a wine shop with a good selection of wines. The cafe serves breakfast until 10:30 am, and they begin serving lunch at 11 am. There is a good selection of food to order on both the breakfast and luncheon menu, and owner Beth Sadewasser makes an effort to provide special orders if the food is available. My companions and I visited for breakfast. The breakfast skillet, omelet with jack cheese, and pancakes were all excellent and all reasonably priced. I especially liked the menu option provided for building you own omelet or hamburger. The dining area is clean, attractive, and decorated with items from local artists. Both the restaurant and the gift shop emphasize locally produced gifts and goods. We will definitely return to this establishment on future visits to Guttenberg.

Stopped by this Subway located on the main highway through Guttenberg for lunch. Very conveniently located. Had the chicken breast sub and spouse had the cold cut combo. Always love how Subway stuffs their subs with all the good vegetables to my liking. Loved the customer service. Even though we were not local, could tell by the two ladies behind the counter that they provided great customer service because they addressed several customers by their first names and apparently what their "usual order" was. Even though it was around 1130, the 2 ladies behind the counter kept the line moving so that there was never more than 1 or 2 people waiting to place their order. Clean inside and out.
