we didn't like it today, first we had to wait for the waiter in an almost empty restaurant, then the soup was not hot and the main course, roasted beef with pasta was average, sticky pasta like heated in the micro wave and an orange sauce sweet from the carrots.

the rather intimate restaurant is located a little bit off the main roads nevertheless easy to find.
we met friends fot dinner and enjoyed a fabolous "red cabbage soup" , goose liver grilled to perfection as starters , and as main course pheasant and according to the time of the year one 1/2 of an excellent goose with dumplings complete with red and white cabbage.

This restaurant was known as Backhendl station, and has evolved to a very nice typical austrian rural gasthaus with good food and appealing atmosphere. We had dinner on a monday evening there, fearing that it could be empty.....to our surprise it was packed.
We had baked chicken and wiener schnitzerl and both were very well prepared ...juicy, tasty and baked to the right crispiness.you have to wait for 15 minutes for the chicken which shows that it is done fresh. The cream puff as desert was also very fresh , not too sweat and filled with real whipped cream.
We had wine by the glass....very good.
The service is a bit streched.....they could also be a bit more engaging and friendly.
İf you go there in the summer, you can enjoy a nice garden.

Good traditional food and drink. Good value and friendly and fast service. The real deal! Perhaps too much mayonaise on the salad.

My daughter's wedding was here in September (she and her now husband live locally) and it was absolutely perfect. Petra and her team and the management worked with the couple at every stage to give them exactly what they wanted. the decor, food, service and facilities were wonderful. The main course was even cooked to order and delivered on time and perfectly to taste. Everyone enjoyed it immensely and probably stayed longer as a result, but the staff cheerfully served until the last guests left! Thank you Panorama and can't wait to visit on one of our many future visits to Modling!

A friend of us (from Mödling) took me and my family for coffee to the Panorama Restaurant. I can tell I really enjoyed a sunny afternoon with friends and family, while having very good coffee and THE BEST Apfelstrudel I've ever tried!
Gorgeous view, Beautiful Place!

I visited with my mother for dinner on a Saturdaay night in October. The place was packed because it happened to be the wine-tasting weekend in town. Like other reviews suggest, the restaurant has truly authentic atmosphere - the dining room is in an old cellar, the servers wear lederhosen. This being a traditional heurigen, I was really excited for some good Austrian home cooking. The food was fine (we had a deer goulash and the traditional appetizer with lard and two types of spreads), but I felt like something was missing. Also, we only got two pieces of bread with the appetizer, which was definitely not enough considering the heaping mounds of spreads. They did not have non-alcoholic beer, which came as a surprise to me. I tried a glass of their award-winning white wine, and found it underwhelming.
That seing said, the servers were very pleasant, service was fast, and the outside Seating must be wonderful in warmer weather. Maybe it was what we ordered, but I would try a different restaurant in Gumpoldskirchen if I ever go back.

We were here for lunch and ordered the daily special, a 3 course meal. The first course came quickly and was definitely yummy. Then we waited and waited. People came and went, ordering the same special we had. I finally flagged down a waiter and asked if we had been forgotten. He said, no, of course not, but then I saw him run to the computer. When our meal finally arrived it, too, was yummy. Our dessert was a chocolate mousse. I speak fluent German but the waiters (all of them) spoke only English with me--maybe they just wanted to practice?--but I found it annoying. I almost never bad mouth a place and maybe I'm being overly sensitive. The food was great and the price was reasonable but I got a bad vibe here.

Wow, what a great little restaurant. We walked through the door to be greeted by the Greek owner and his two small sons. They made us feel so special. The owner had family in Australia and he was thrilled to have us there. The food was fabulous and the staff very attentive. Loved the place.
