A landmark destination, and pioneering in its contemporary luxury heritage on the Canary Island of Tenerife, The Ritz-Carlton, Abama champions Tenerife-lux from its iconic style and architecture, premium accommodation, first-class facilities to experiential luxury curated throughout the guest experience. Located in Guia de Isora, a peaceful gem of a destination on the South West coast of Tenerife, this exclusive five-star resort is operated by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C., and exists in a stunning ‘finca’ setting of natural beauty, surrounded by lush and vibrant vegetation, volcanic landscapes and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Designed by Melvin Villarroel and with romantic Moorish references to an Arab citadel, the resort includes seven swimming pools, access to a secluded beach, waterfalls and exuberant subtropical vegetation, composed of 90,000 trees with 300 different species of palms and shrubs. The timeless retreat provides a wide choice of accommodation, all with The Ritz-Carlton seal. Guests staying in the new Villa Club will be treated to an exclusive and bespoke service in the luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, nestled amongst the lush tropical garden with access to a semi-private pool. An entire lane of villas is reserved exclusively for adults, where guests can truly enjoy a relaxing stay. Bespoke family villas include interconnecting deluxe rooms and one- bedroom suites, ideal for large family groups to stay together while enjoying an exclusive menu of amenities. A perfectly pampering spa of 2,500 m2 offers an indulgent menu using Espa, Spanish brand Sepai, and native island ingredients. The Ritz-Carlton, Abama is also home to enviable facilities including Ritz Kids – an immersive children's club with a programme designed by the renowned Oceanographer, Jean- Michel Cousteau. A gourmet paradise and a culinary journey, restaurants include El Mirador by Cesar Gonzalez, Beach Club, Txoko by Martin Berasategui and Kabuki, which has been awarded a Michelin star. Guests also enjoy close access to the Dave Thomas-designed championship golf course and Academy, one of the most challenging 18-hole golf courses in Spain, as well as seven tennis courts and four paddle tennis courts.
Lovely hotel - however it the leaks, dark rooms, cracks really highlight it's absolute need for a facelift. Thankfully we spoke with some of the team and it seems there is a schedule. However, the staff are the glue that keeps the hotel relevant. Though sometimes service can be slow to Anglophile POV, also particularly when restaurants get busy. We stayed for a week on the full board package, personally would recommend just taking bed and breakfast and then purchase as you go the packages tend to be quite limited, and though you can supplement it still feels quite restricted and not set up to support this package. El Mirador is the only restaurant we had the only meal we had to walk out on due to lack of service, not the staff's fault more that they are understaffed for the restaurant. But me and my pregnant wife were somewhat forgotten after water service, even when we ordered a drink it arrive a course late, our plates were then left for over 30 minutes after finish which is where we left. Got bored waiting with dirty cutlery and empty drinks mid way through dinner service. However James and Adrian were really great and genuinely apologetic as they were covering a lot of heads in the outside part of the restaurant, but takes nothing away from how great they both were at the start. This being said some staff really stood out for their passion and professionalism: Charlotte in guest services - helped us with our room at the start when there were a few issues Carmen from Front desk team also really helped to find the right room which actually included downgrading a category but a far superior room in terms of view and light. Lorena also on Front desk supported when some wet paint from a contractor ended up needing some emergency laundry sorted quickly. Jonathan, Nicholas, and Nikolas at the lobby bar were brilliant from day one. Particularly with my very particular Negroni. The whole lobby bar team were great but these guys stood out day after day. Pool team Victor was brilliant making sure there was enough shade or sun, Ines with the Beverage team really personable and always happy to say hi. Ricardo at the Pool restaurant over lunch was so great we ended up having most our lunches there. Evidently some great team here but they need more to help deal with increased guest numbers as we come out of the pandemic. We also did loose a pair of new Airpods in the room which we have chased the hotel to find out if someone handed in, though doubtful we will get reconnected with those. We will come back but after the facelift - hopefully the hotel will be worthy of the staff I mentioned above and the rest of the team because they are truly carrying

Gran Melia Palacio de Isora has everything your need to make your next holidays an unforgetable experience.
Hard one this. The issue is the rooms do not match the resort. TL;DR: rooms not great, first was not clean, mains cable for microwave dodgy. Resort facilities and staff are great. The bad Had a suite, floor was sticky in places, dust around, phone not working, some lights not working. So we have no physical hotel guide or menus due to covid but the place feels unlcean. OK. But the tipping point was plugging in the kettle and taking out the microwave one and seeing the outer insulation had gone. (see photo). Not bare wires but not up to standard. Hotel did move us but I felt they did not acknowldge the fact you cant have such electricity wiring in a hotel, let alone a 5 star hotel. I may be wrong but I doubt it was fixed in a hurry (or may still not have been). I didn't get an apology for this; it was an "oh" and let me check with my manager if there is a different room. After moving we then found out that our original room was missing things like furniture. No physical menus anywhere due to covid. App that controls most things is awful, slow and unreliable. But if you want to see your bill you have to go the front desk. The good Staff in general are great Facilities are good with daily activites for children Food is pretty good Spa is not cheap but excellent tip: if you drive there is off street parking and a big free public carpark next to the hotel. Hotel charges for car parking.

Las Terrazas de Abama Suites ,exclusive and luxury 5* suites in the south of the Tenerife Island situated in Guia de Isora area. A magnificent corner in the Southeast part of the island which has a 22º C average temperature throughout the whole year. Located in the front of the sea in the privileged golf course of Abama Golf. Suites with the most exquisite services and the amenities of a private house.
Accommodation excellent - spacious and excellent views.. Nice pools but not deep. However we weren't blown away by the Breakfasts - no real variety - particularly odd poached eggs.. Rude waiter on first day.. Wouldnt make coffee on demand yet I watched him do it for female guests.. And service just wasn't on point.. Certain drinks not available at certain bars.. 9 euro milkshakes poor.. Overpriced drinks really. Pool bar shuts at 6pm.. Nothing worse than an overpriced drink in a plastic cup also.. Couple of shining stars like the Drivers (very quick service to beach and ritz bars/restaurants) and one or two of the bar maids were good and friendly. Plastic cups when sat down for lunch!! No no. Didn't get room cleaned had to ring reception twice to request it - cleaners would come at strange times - sometimes very early ie before 9.30am.. Requested extra pillows only 1 turned up!! ONLY 1 PILLOW PER PERSON IN ACCOMMODATION! This is poor. And finally can you really call yourself 5 star if you don't have proper room service and at least one Bar serving drinks until 11pm or late ?? Don't get me wrong it's not prime season hence I've given 4 rather than a 3 but with a few simple fixes this place can be a true 5 star.

Magnificent Oceanfront hotel for guests as of 16 years, with spectacular views of the island La Gomera. RedLevel at Gran Melia Palacio de Isora is perfectly integrated in the South west coast of Tenerife, in the fishing village Alcala. A beautiful unspoiled area at the foot of Mount Teide, five minutes by car from the Los Gigantes cliffs. While its glorious design combines to perfection the elements sea, earth and air, the hotel sets new standards for luxury, in order to satisfy the most demanding travellers searching for a truly unforgettable experience.
This is our second visit to this hotel and the red level. Unfortunately the place is swarmed by flies from the plantations next to the hotel which makes it unbearable when your trying to eat drink or even sun bath as they are around you all the time. We felt that the hotel could have done more to try and control the situation but sadly all they offered was a candle on your table if you was lucky. On the positive side the weather has been lovely and the staff are trying their best under a very difficult environment. We will probably come back again but will certainly avoid this time of year.

Food was superb, entertainment team was unrealistic, will recommend to all my family and friends, hotel itself was ok, rooms was clean and comfortable, pool’s were clean and refreshing, bar tender around 28 year old women was unreal on making the cocktails but others was so so… but that creepy man just ruined it all

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a longer holiday in Tenerife. It was an excellent choice as we were looking for somewhere away from the heavily over-developed parts of Tenerife ( and there are a lot of them !). Good sized room and bathroom, with private terrace. Pool was good also. Walked down to the coast and along to the nearby towns each day - no beaches to mention. Lovely position in the bananna plantation. Three course evening meal ( no choice except vegetarion or non-vegetarian for each course) was excellently produced home cooking and very good value at €40 per couple including a bottle of local wine and coffee. This is no 5 star or 4 star resort but a low key well run friendly hotel off the beaten track but still in the popular holiday area. If I went to Tenerife again I would definitely consider this hotel again.

Traumatic experience. After booking, a member of our family decided to visit us at the time of the stay. We discovered that 2nd room usage increases the price of the night by 25%. This is "clearly" mentionned in the house rules, between paragraphs 16 and 17 (microwave and garbage rules). Fine. We communicated to Mr Rok the dates at which this person would stay at the flat. 2 nights in, 2 nights out, 2 nights in. Easy we thought. Byt as from the 2nd day and until after we left, Mr Rok was harassing us, sending people from his team a few times a day to check if the person was not there, calling my wife aggressively, threatening us to leave us outside and change the key of the flat (with a baby of 4 months) if the family member would come during those 2 days. The day before check out he sent 2 persons to put pressure on our family member to pay an additional night (they said he had stayed 5 nights and not 4). Fortunately we showed them the proof that he stayed in a hotel in the North of the island as planned during the 2 days. After we left Mr Rok sent us another request to pay 2 additional nights (he claimed that our family member had stayed 6 nights this time... without proof of course). He contacted airbnb to try to get them cancelling our account. Finally we had to contact airbnb directly to make him stop harassing us. He ruined our stay. We were so stressed it took us a few days to recover. 1st time we have such a terrible experience.

We really enjoyed the stay in this paradisiac resort. The houses are equipped with everything you may need, 3 perfect swimming pools and private transfer to move inside the resort and to go the beach. A special thank to Aaron, our first contact in the hotel and transfer, that helped us with all our necessities and explained us how everything in the house worked. Definitely going back in this hotel in the near future!

This is a very basic place but I got what I needed- a clean bed and my private space. Not recommended if you want to spend any time in but if you want to explore, go to beaches, do some sports- I would recommend this place.
