We've actually eaten at Restaurante El Delfin several times, and have been pleasantly surprised each and every time. They have a wide variety of seafood on the menu, all of which the chef is expert at preparing. The wait staff is very pleasant, very helpful, and willing to go way beyond just standing at the table and not caring... They actually went cheerfully to correct an order. This means a lot. When a restaurant makes a small mistake on an order then their true spirit can be found in the way they respond to their error. They passed this test very well.We ordered shrimp tostadas for only $20 pesos apiece (about $1.65 US) which came with a quarter pound of shrimp on each tostada, and for another $65 pesos (about $4.75 US), I got the Sopa de siete mariscos (seven seas soup) which was unbelievable. There was a crab on top of the soup (I will soon post photos of our meal) which was the first thing that grabbed my attention. After I devoured the crab, there were other equally delicious fishes and squid and octopus and a few vegetables, lightly seasoned with standard seafood seasoning... This is the best seafood soup I have ever had this far inland. The place is small, there is an outdated Google photo of their location before the remodeling, which I intend to replace in a few days with recent photos, and will post here photos of the place and of the meal. The good thing about this place is the eastward-facing front, which keeps it cool in the evenings. I do now know their hours, but you can get any info you want from them by phone.Summary: Clean, good food, quiet atmosphere, seating for 30, low prices and delicious food.
Ordered a Shrimp cocktail. Very fresh tasting This was my second visit and I hope to return again soon

I had not heard anything good or bad so we went in expecting much better everything than what we got. Their location is prime, not far from the extremely highly rated "Toro Rojo Arrecheria" on the other side of the "de los Heroes" monument. Their parking is insufficient, only 4 spots out front. Otherwise, you must park on the street or in front of other shops, out of view of your car. And, in Mexico, if you do not have an active alarm system on your car, you can expect to see damage on every window after you return from a restaurant or shopping center, as thieves routinely try to break into cars every single time you park. Security is a problem. We were seated right away, the only good thing that happened that night. They showed us the buffet, which only had 3 items on it, and very little of that. I was under the impression they were going to refill the buffet as we ate- they did not. We asked for the buffet and I ordered mineral water for myself, my guest ordered a coke. My mineral water came after about 10 minutes, and the coke never came. We asked at the end of the meal about the coke, and they told us "We are out of coke." It would have been nice to have been told that when we ordered, it's hard to eat without a drink. I shared my drink with my guest. The food was cold, the fire under the buffet was off. The flavor of the food was actually good but the fact that there was so little (and that it was cold) was a turnoff. The only thing left on the buffet was two types of shrimp and a soup.We kept asking for the coke during the meal but it never came. It was at the end of the meal they simply stated "We are out of coke."The lights were turned off in the restaurant for about 10 minutes and I couldn't see to continue eating. We had to tell them to turn them back on again or they would not have done it.I did go to the bathroom to report on it, and found nothing wrong except there was no soap. When it became time to pay the bill, we noticed the coke was still on it. When we questioned them, they said "Well, you ordered it." We said, "Go adjust the bill to not include the coke we never received." After they had adjusted the bill, we paid. When they brought the change, it was $20 (MXP) short. (about $1.60 US$) This was about 10% of the bill, and they intended to force a tip out of us. At this time we called the manager over. We told him of the whole night, no food on the buffet, the lights being turned off on us, no coke delivered, being charged for the coke, and then the tip being commandeered from the change. Excuses were made, I then asked for a business card, and told him I am going to do a review on the restaurant (Here it is!) and we will give them a second chance to do right. So far, we haven't but the other day we saw that manager on the street, he recognized us and greeted us with a handshake... so maybe the second review will be in order.I will have to do it alone because my guest refuses to return.Wait until i do my second review of my upcoming visit, in all fairness, before you go by this review to help you decide whether to eat there or not.
