Reviews on Mexican food in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. High in the cool hills, this colonial gem of cobblestone streets and picturesque churches inspires artists with its color, character and light. Baroque, neoclassical and neogothic mix in the city's buildings, notably at the pink stone 18th-century church on the Plaza Principal. Founded in 1542, the city is a mix of Hispanic and Mesoamerican influences.

Hands down, the best. Food, service, cocktails, wine, and view. It doesnât get better than this. Valet service if you are driving.

Under clear, star-studded skies, the Luna Rooftop Tapas Bar serves up savory authentic Mexican and Spanish tapas that can be enjoyed individually or family style. A tempting, casual place to linger after the day's pursuits, this al fresco setting presents
Sometimes a rooftop spot gets really built up then it falls short. Totally not the case here. Expertly crafted cocktail, weâre talking top level crafting are a must. The food is also excellent, though more of a tapas and snack variety. Itâs pricey by San Miguel standards but the view, drinks and service is the reason. It definitely fills up!

For a change of pace, we visited Nectar and had a very English style breakfast with a hippie twist. Gluten free scones, fresh fruit plate and porridge with ginger, chia, seeds and banana...yum. Very friendly and great place to enjoy a lazy morning. The hummingbirds know why they come here, and so did we. The hummingbirds sure know! Thanks for your kind review, we truly believe in updating old classics to fit our contemporary needs but keeping attention to what made them great to begin with. We also have updated / vegan versions of traditional Mexican breakfasts that our grandma would approve. Thanks from all of us at Néctar

This hidden gem has the most welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. Our second visit was for breakfast and we were thrilled to return. After ordering we were offered free pastries. We chose the croissant..fabulous Hubby ordered the scrambled egg stuffed chili relleno over black bean purée with chips covered in green sauce and cheese. Outstanding I ordered the eggs divorsiados. YumHighly recommend this place.

Another neighborhood gem on this stretch of road in San Miguel! Mario's has outstanding seafood for very reasonable prices which would be good enough reasons to go eat there, But as a bonus, there are crazy toys suspended from all over the ceiling and I'm pretty sure those hanging lamps in the main room are made out of blow fish! Kids and kid-like folks (like us) love it. Tasty food for a great price with a sense of humor is a combo that can't be beat in our book! And Mario himself is a cool guy to talk to. We've lived in SMA for 3 months now and love this place. A feel-good spot for your stomach and your soul.

Location - about a 8 to 10 mins walk from the main square in town - very convenient. Setting - tiny restaurant, casual atmosphere, bar with four seats The food - exceeded my expectations. The flavors were great , and many of the dishes were creative. They were all on the small side - meant for sharing .The only item that was not a wow was the Moroccan soup (which was not bad at all). The grilled octopus was excellent ; so was the seared tuna . My favorite dish though was the shrimp quesadilla- it was bits of shrimp wrapped in tortilla infused with squid ink - it was definitely not like the traditional quesadilla. The drinks - the lychee martini was delicious ; the mezcal mule was quite tasty as well. Service - friendly and efficient. This is a must try in SMA

Great food including mixiote and barbacoa located in a modest establishment close to the bus station with congenial hosts...they sell out every day so go early.

What i s inside? Inside cafe was founded in 2016 by the young couple Teu Campbell (Auckland, New Zealand) & David Barajas (San Miguel d e Allende, Mx) as an iniciative that seeks to promote creative collaboration between art, music, culture & hospitality.
My new favourite breakfast spot in San Miguel de Allende providing fantastic food and attentive service. The dishes are fresh and creative and the portions are good. The café has a great rooftop location and has an open kitchen so you can watch the dishes being prepared by the enthusiastic chefs. I would recommend âThe Big Wildâ the âThe Eggletteâ and the scrumptious âCheese Sandwichâ. Unfortunately the service deteriorates during busy periods otherwise I would have given a five star rating.

Bringing the best of the outdoors inside, Restaurante del Parque lives up its name. Embrace the traditional flavors of México in a relaxed, elegant setting. A delicious menu is complemented by a stunning drink selection, making it the perfect venue for co
This restaurant is inside a small hotel but non-residents can dine here. A charming setting with the dining area bordering an inner garden. For dinner we had guacamole for starters and it was a huge serving unlike what we would get here in Toronto. Enough to last you through you meal and they kept topping up the nachos. My husband and I had roasted chicken coated with a pumpkin seed and amaranth crust - absolutely delicious and the vegetables were grilled perfectly. Sadly we were too full to try dessert. A charming little restaurant, service is good.Dear Lyn P:Thank yo for taking time to review our Restaurante del Parque and delighted to read that you had a good dining experience and that the service met your expectations. The chicken is pretty good isn´t it? Come back soon!

Uno De Los Restaurantes Mas Famosos De San Miguel De Allende. Por Su Unico Estilo Europeo Y Completamente Acogedor Recinto.
In a city with so many English-speaking people, the menu, replete with laughable translations into English, should have warned us off. It may be a great place for breakfast, but our dinners were pretty awful. Exhibit A: my wife's chicken marsala, which came buried under a WHITE sauce of dubious provenance. Her vegetables were canned or frozen; she hated her dinner. Three of us had salads, which were fine if unremarkable. Exhibit B: our friend ordered a lemon pie, got a lemon cheesecake. My 'homemade' apple pie was not homemade nor pie, but it was made of apple and came with ice cream. Our wines were pretty dreadful, yet in other SMA restos, we were served wonderful wines, even of Mexican origin. The ambience was quirky - our table was built for 5 diners? We couldn't find a table for 4. And despite the name, there is nothing French on the menu, not even a baguette. Service was attentive; they wanted to please. But they kept bringing the wrong plates, committing other bush-league mistakes that required undoing.Of all our dinners out in SMA, this was our only bad one.
