Best known for its Festival Cervantino, an arts festival that draws attendance from around the world, Guanajuato is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its old town dates back to the 16th century, and you can visit many of Mexico’s important religious and artistic sites. Guanajuato was also home to the Mexican independence movement and the site of the first failed rebellion against colonial rule.

No cost cancelation and no deposit required to make a reservation.
Casa Zuniga is warm, welcoming, and comfortable. The location is great as it's a short funicular ride (or walk, if you're up for it) to the center of town at the bottom of the hill. It's also conveniently located next to the Papila Monument which makes it easy to catch a cab to or from the place, if needed. I stayed in the Morgan room, which was spacious and had a beautiful view. The place is absolutely spotless. And the homemade breakfasts were delicious. Rick and Carmen are incredibly welcoming hosts who want to share their love of Guanajuato with their guests.

Perfectly placed small hotel in the centre of Guanajuato. I stayed for 3 nights. I was in a small single room at basement level, which meant there was no external window, which didn’t particularly matter as I was only in there to sleep. If that’s an issue for you, you’d need to check that you’re in a ground floor or first floor room. Breakfast was decent - what you’d expect from a cold Mexico breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

Hotel Casa Lunatta welcomes you with open arms. Enjoy the comfort and originality of our services and designs. Live an unforgettable experience in the city of Guanajuato. We are located just minutes from downtown and we can provide information about tourist attractions in the city. Your booking includes breakfast, cable TV, air conditioner, free Wi-Fi and sauna.
Be advised this place is not a hotel it's an Airbnb. The property would have received a better rating if we would have known what to expect. Imagine the surprise when we arrived to find a locked door into the property and lock box with a combination lock and no way into the so called "Hotel Casa Lunatta." Luckily I had my print out with a phone number from the reservation I made with booking.com. Again, no where does it state that this property is an Airbnb. Luckily I had a mobile phone with an international data plan that I could use in Mexico. I called the phone number on my reservation print out and got an answer with an individual who then sent me a text with instructions on how to unlock the two combination locks, what a pain. Inside the second lock box are the 3 keys. Three keys are required to get into your room. Then two days later the host sends a text on where to pay for the room. We had to find something similar to a 7 Eleven called XOXO and then had to pay in cash even though booking.com stated that the "Hotel Casa Lunatta" accepts all major credit cards. So, you better have a phone with data plan that works in Mexico and be prepared to pay in cash for your stay. The property is clean and nicely decorated. Again, it was just nerve wrecking having to deal with these unpleasant surprises.

Hotel Santa Regina ... In the heart of the historic center of Guanajuato, at number 26 Calle Alonso. It is a building that was home to the poet Agustin Lanuza. The house has been recently restored and converted into a comfortable hotel. There, you can enjoy a peaceful and central stay in his visit to the city of Guanajuato. The seasoned traveler knows the benefits of staying in the center of historic cities. There you can be in the middle of the fun and healthy distance from rest.
Hotel Santa Regina is only a 2-minute walk from the main basilica and a 5-minute walk from the central plaza. It is quiet. I had a room with a large street-facing window on the 3rd floor (like the hotel profile picture) and I did not have any noise issue. The hotel has an elevator. It is not an issue going up the floors. The hotel has an activate WhatsApp account. It is great for information. The response time is fast. The hotel could arrange you transportation to and from the airport (the airport is 30-minute away). But the price is 500 MXN. Typical Uber is a little over 200 MXN. But getting an Uber could be a hit and miss. Many Uber drivers are too lazy to drive the airport route due to the longer trip. When you check in, the reception will ask you your breakfast time. And he/she would schedule you for the next day. The breakfast is not inside this hotel but a short walk away. There is always someone at the reception, which directly face the main entrance. Security seems to be okay.

If you are looking for the magic of Mexico, Guanajuato is the best option to enjoy its legends, colonial streets (callejones) and colorful houses, Casa de Pita is located in the downtown of Guanajuato and it is the colonial house where you could smell its magic trough the years and if you are expecting more than just walk around the city, Casa de Pita is the best option to stay because she will tell you about the legends around the house, tips and tricks to maximize your stay and you will love the friendly environmental and Pitas company.
This is by far the worst hotel where we have ever stayed in Mexico. The whole house has a lot of humidity. Throughout the day and night there is an awful smell of waste water coming from the bathroom into the room. At night we had to close the balcony window to avoid mosquitoes and felt trapped inside a dark place with bad smell. We could not sleep and it was a true nightmare. Bathroom sink was clogged causing dirt to cumulate, something very unpleasant to see everytime we brushed our teeth or washed our hands. Bed clothes old and worn out. Internet access given at check in did not work, we had to get in touch with the owner to request another one. Owner makes sure to charge you by cash before you see the room, when you realize where you are it is already too late to give it up. Even though we had already paid for two nights, we decided to leave the place on the next day after we had checked in. If you decide to go, go at your own risk, but don´t complain that you have not been warned before.

I recently stayed with some family. The rooms were great with great air conditioning and just in overall great shape. I was happy at the speed of the great wifi. I personally loved the location as someone who loves to walk, so I had no problem with walking down and up hill ten minutes every day. The owner Martin was very gracious and kind, giving us a tour our first day which helped us get to know the area. He made sure to let us know he's available if we need help with anything. Overall, will definitely come back! :)

Located in a 19th century building, Casa Lupita offers 5 private rooms and a 6 beds dorm right in the center of the city, a few steps from the main attractions of Guanajuato. You will find free Wi-Fi, shared kitchen and spacious accomodations.
I stayed here four nights and found it quite lovely. I had a large private room with bathroom to myself for a great value. It's very clean and quiet. Dante the manager is very nice and professional and was able to help me with quite a few things such as recommendations and even having my laundry cleaned.

It is my first time staying in Guanajuato and I had no clue where to stay. I gambled with Hotel Real de Leyendas and it paid off. It is in a nice location and secure location. You could walk in the middle of the night and feel safe. Lots of the key locations like the Juarez theater or the cathedral is like 15 minutes away. Well lets talk about the hotel the room is comfortable and same with the beds. The room is very clean. The receptionist was nice and friendly. I recommend doing the independence tour while in Guanajuato. Don't do the city tour because you still have to pay the entrance of the museums. You are pretty much just paying 120 for the transportation. You are better off doing everything yourself. You will pay almost same thing, but you get to see more of the city yourself. If I come back to Guanajuato I plan to stay in this hotel again.

Hospedería del Truco 7 puts the best of Guanajuato at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
The location is perfect but anything else will make your stay enjoyable. We get the apartment with 2 bedrooms, the master room is very close to the street and the noise will not let you sleep. In the building first floor is a bar and the music will play until midnight. There is no a/c so I ask for a fan twice and never get the fan so I need to sleep with the balcony door open and the street noise was terrible. I can hear the band that was playing on the square until 2:00am.
