Great Jazz groups play on the weekends
My wife and I went to the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe last eve - had dinner at the bar by choice - what a pleasant experience.
And of course, Carl the Bartender is a big add to our experience.
Plus relatively good prices for the quality of food and wine.
May it continue

Jungle Juice Bar exemplifies how business, community, education and the environment can harmoniously converge. JJB, as we are known to our fans, is more than a juice bar. Our trifold initiative includes creating accessibility to healthy foods in an under-served community, free and affordable wellness and healthy living education, and environmental advocacy, celebrating the jungles of the world. As part of our commitment to the community, we offer use of our space at no charge for events such as book signings, the Detroit City Chess Club practice, healthy eating film series, social and political meetings, story time and more. Demonstrating our commitment to education in a community plagued by diet-related illnesses and in support of those interested in healthier lifestyles, we offer vegetarian, vegan and raw food preparation classes and support groups, providing information about nutritional alternatives consistent with our menu options. As part of our commitment to the environment, we have created a signature line of drinks named in honor of famous jungles. Each time someone orders a drink, we celebrate that jungle and the life it gives. Also, with limited resources, JJB's owners furnished and decorated JJB using at least 80% repurposed materials that may otherwise have been thrown away; JJB donates pulp to community gardens for compost and uses biodegradable vegetable-based products, minimizing our carbon footprint. This philanthropic philosophy motivates everything we do and distinguishes our Jungle Juice Bar, Inc.
We tried a smoothie and two sandwiches which we split and were very happy with our selections. The establishment was clean and bright and the staff friendly and fast. I would come back.

What's there not to like about beer in German food. Okay so the German food here isn't spectacular but it's pretty good. Great selection of beer which is good beer. Nice bar. Great patio. Outdoor bar you can sit at. Live music in the evenings. No not Polka Band stuff. Big variety. Lots of people. Sort of like the Hofbrauhaus only more American. Okay a lot more American. You'll like it. Go have a beer or three. Note that I did not write this review following the consumption of any alcohol.

$39 for lunch for 2! Shared a sour tasting appetizer (which wasn’t very hot), had 2 cups of soup (only liked 1) & 2 sandwiches (both were pretty good); no beverages or dessert. Lots of hair and face touching by waitstaff while handling food. Wouldn’t return based on bad waitstaff hygiene and cost. Coat hooks in women’s bathroom were so high I could barely reach them. If you’re < 5’3” or in a wheelchair, you’re out of luck!

Unlike LouisGreen I'm an outsider and loved it. Easy parking (a definite plus in Grosse Pointe), outstandingly warm and funny staff, and the food we had was really tasty. Had the salad with the smoked chicken (plus he added avocado). The smokiness of the chicken and the nuts were a special touch. Everyone else seemed happy and comfortable.

Yum! Never been to this chain before, and def'ly will return to try more things. Firstly the smell threw me off guard...I could smell that all day every day and be in heaven. Very very friendly employee who answered our questions and made our items as requested quickly. Really clean beautiful store also. And the food.....so absolutely delicious it's really hard to put into words. It was really neat to see how the ice cream was churned by hand before going into my dipped waffle cone. Thx a million :)

Had lunch with friends here. WE all had a positive experience. Service was great even though they were short-staffed. Our waitress really hustled. The soup of the day was an odd combination of vegetables but was tasty. Grilled cheese was really cheesy and the tomato was good. The pizza is good and big enough to share. The salads are enormous. The only thing that was a turnoff was the garlic bread which had WAY too much raw garlic on top. We asked for a loaf without garlic and they quickly brought us a plain loaf.

While I will say a number of my friends say they have had good food here, sadly, that was not my experience. The grape leaves were mushy and flavorless. The hummus with ground lamb arrived ringed with gelatinous grease that hardened during dinner and was thoroughly disgusting. When our server checked on us, and I pointed this out to her, her comment was, "Oh."
To be fair, my son had a lamb burger, which he enjoyed very much.
I probably would not return based on the food I had and the server's disinterest in trying to improve the situation.

I have had much experience with Thai restaurants, so I feel confident in saying that this establishment is worth a visit. Great, tasty food... HUGE portions as well. Our meals were virtually TWICE the size of what I am accustomed to, in DC and NY -- and at a much lower cost.
The wait staff is extremely attentive and friendly. They offered suggestions to modify our meals for our specific tastes. That attention (and sincere interest) deserves specific recognition. Thanks!
In fact, I ate here on two occasions... driving up from Dearborn because it was so good. Congratulations, TN Thai, for a job well done!

Bright and cozy welcoming spot. Fresh, homemade and the perfect portion sizes. The omlets were fluffy, not greasy. The oatmeal with fresh fruit was smooth and creamy. The server arrived immediately with fresh coffee. A pleasant spot surrounded by lovely original art. Definitely a place for dining in comfort with friends, family or colleagues. Mel, the owner is visible and personable. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the catering options.
