We were searching for a place to watch the AFL semi finals and enquired Soulatso. The staff were very accommodating and they were genuinely interested in the outcome of our game. They made our game a priority, even when a crowd turned up to watch a soccer match, which we greatly appreciated. A relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Elena runs both the hotel and restaurant opened just a year ago in this underpopulated gorgeous spot in central Naxos. The food is sublime - most of it coming from her own garden (right next to the outdoor eating) and her own olive grove. Absolutely amazing cocktails and smoothies as well. A real high point to our visit to Naxos!

A really nice kitchen bar where you can taste a variety of dishes and have a drink in a beautifully decorated space. Ideal for a night out with friends or family as it is in a quiet part of Chalki village, very close to the parking. Very reasonable prices too!
The ideal place to sit and have a glass of ouzo with a tasty traditional greek meze (snack). Opa!You can taste traditional greek dishes as well as a delicious pizza. The name "Kladi tou Za" is inspired by the name of the one tree that stands alone and proud on the top of mount Zeus.
âKhadi2zaâ is a traditional greek ouzeri situated in the picturesque village of Filoti. You can enjoy a glass of ouzo and taste delicious snacks (mezes) by the hands of a Greek Canadian chef. Donât miss the experience!

Gorgeous hideaway of artists and artistic types is Apeirnathos, still the true tastes of Greece. This wonderful little cafe offers great drinks and food (if you are lucky Eirinis sister may have been baking her special cheese pies!) as well as an excellent spot to do some people watching. This has become one of our Must-Do's on the annual Naxos visit. Eirini herself is a great source of local knowledge, always happy to make time for a chat and a bit of a laugh. Try the Naxos cheese, olives and fresh bread...the simple things, as often, are simply the best.
We were all accommodated with treats here and it was so picturesque and friendly! We came for ice cream (kids ages 8-13), Greek frappe coffee (mom) and a beer (dad) after having late lunch down the street. Great atmosphere during the day/afternoon.
With green grass underfoot and towering floodlit cypresses this is a leafy glade straight out of A Midsummerâs Night's Dream; cool and atmospheric during the day and gloriously romantic at night.Completely Greek in character, but with an imaginative and intriguing nuance, it is slightly off the beaten track from the centre, a few metres down on the right along the road to Damarionas. Friendly staff, prompt service and great cocktails. Highly recommended.

The Old Cinema is located a few steps up from the centre of Filoti towards the beautiful Panagia Filotitissa. The setting is outstanding, with split level terraces constructed on marble and stone walls, and α view up through Cypress trees and wooded slopes to the mountain road as it approaches Apeiranthos. As well as the charm of the outside areas, the interior is a gloriously proportioned space with the typical oak beamed ceiling some five or more metres high. We visited out of season in early April when the locals gather just for coffee, and caught them a little unawares by asking for food. We were given the regionâs usual superb quality Greek salad, beautifully cooked local sausage in a tomato sauce and delicious spinach patties. However I canât yet vouch for the food generally, as I think we may have inadvertently imposed ourselves on the familyâs own lunch for that day. Their only wine from the barrel was the organic amber variety, pleasant but a little heavy for some Northern European tastes. However, the very friendly and engaging proprietor, who speaks some English and very clear Greek (a bonus if, like me, you are struggling to learn the language), assured me that she stocks the softer white barrel wine during the tourist season. The quality of food in Naxos generally, and Filoti in particular, is exceptionally high and its vibrant lunchtime trade is likely to extend into the evenings as tourists, attracted to the region for its spectacular hiking routes and wealth of cultural and historical sites, seek to extend their stay. For the beauty of its building and location alone The Old Cinema is one of the dozen or so excellent eateries that contribute so richly to the villageâs increasingly bright future as a centre for tourism in the islandâs breathtaking mountainous interior.
