Find out what Eastern European restaurants to try in Poznan. Poznan was once the capital of Poland and is still the capital of the Wielkopolska region. Poznan lies midway between Berlin and Warsaw, which has helped make it an important town for centuries. Badly damaged in World War II, the city (especially its Old Town) has been beautifully restored. The huge Old Town Square (Stary Rynek) is one of Europe’s nicest, and is lined by fabulous historic attractions, restaurants and nightlife. The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is Poland’s oldest cathedral.

Found this lovely place on the first night in Poznan. We went searching for somewhere where a vegetarian friend had a decent choice of dishes and foind this restaurant. There are a few vegetarian dishes. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed the ribs and sourkraut - a definite recommendation. My friend really enjoyed the veggie burger which was made from a range of vegetables. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was excellent.Highly recommended and excellent prices for the quality.

Really enjoyed the ambiance, a sweet little place that smelt amazing as soon as you stepped in. Food was delicious, service was excellent. The only thing missing was wine, i really would have liked a glass of wine or two with dinner but they only served beer and spirits.

This beautiful restaurant , located at the city's Rynek (market square) in an old building, is very attractive, and being seated near a window table on a sunny day, provided great view of what's happening outside. A beautiful sculpture, depicting a peasant woman carrying a yoke with two buckets on her back adorns the front of the restaurant. We opted for "authentic" Polish food, and had pierogi, (dumplings) and "zurek" soup, both of which were pretty regular and offered everywhere in Poland. Service was attentive and efficient. We shall remember the place, but am not sure about the food.

restaurant is located just off the main square and serves traditional polish food. I had a very good steak hereand my partner enjoyed the roast duck. Both were excellent, well cooked and served in large portions. We rounded off an enjoyable meal with an apple pie. The service was very good and the overall cost very reasonable given both the quality and size of the portions

Pierożak Pierogarnia - Polish traditional hand made dumplings
To say I was excited to try pierogi is an understatement! Being gluten free I miss out on a lot of traditional foods but to be able to taste these pillows of joy was fantastic thanks Pierozak for being so accommodating! Iâve been twice now going out of my way to get them! Here in Poznan a bit longer and will be back!!!
