Located in an old house just off Palm Canyon, across from Cathedral Cityâs central plaza, Sunshine Cafe has the look and feel of a joint thatâs been serving up the same breakfasts and lunches for generations. Regulars tend to predominate, but a visitor will find a decent menu of diner standards. Best to stay with the tried-and-true items here â pancakes, French toast, meat and eggs. More exotic items can be problematic; the huevos rancheros came smothered in what looked and tasted like spaghetti sauce. Service is great, though: every customer is treated like a member of the family.

This is a cathedral city institution in a fun, funky Marilyn Monroe themed restaurant. The staff are lovely, but after multiple visits for breakfast and lunch I think the food is just not very good. Eggs are dry, hash browns are undercooked, the lunch meats not the freshest. Sorry Michaelâs. I wonât be back.

Today, the food came very late, in different stages with other tables also partially served. The food seemed prepared well in advance and had congealed before being reheated which made the overall experience extremely disappointing and expensive. Until this establishment improves the service, quality of fare and portions, save yourself much grief and go elsewhere!

We have stopped in here a few times for the 19th hole... beer is always cold and the appetizers are quite good. Especially the fries! We have also had a meal or two with friends after golf and found consistently good food and drink at reasonable prices. I would say that the service is friendly and the pace is moderate.Thank you for visiting the Mountain View Grille at Desert Princess and for leaving us a great review. We are glad you enjoyed our food and service. Visit again soon!
