Came here for Sunday lunch while staying at the nearby caravan park and it did not disappoint. My wife and I had the carvery while my 2 and a half year old had the childrenâs roast. Your meat, Yorkshire and roast potatoes are served to you and you help yourself to the veg. There was such a range it was difficult not to have eyes bigger than your belly! It was all perfectly cooked and we demolished it all! The desserts were delicious too! It was busy and no wonder so book or get there early! You wonât be disappointed!

Ate at the estuary last night. The food was excellent. I had mushroom bruschetta which was really tasty. I then had the risotto which was cooked well and full of flavour. No room for dessert. We visited for a birthday celebration on Sunday a party of 9 and a highchair. The table was very cramped and we where practically sat on each other (was not a table for this many people) and no room for a highchair. Service was drinks was good from the waitress. The waiter was swapping our menus around on the table... not sure why. The food arrived quiet promptly and all 3 course where very nice. Had to wait along time for the bill and a further 20 mins to pay...Dear Megan, We are glad to hear that you enjoyed all 3 of your courses while dining at our restaurant. Unfortunately due to the small nature of our pub we are not always able to offer the most expansive eating areas. However, had you let us know on the day that you felt uncomfortable we would have attempted to accommodate you more fully. Best wishes, Tim and Emma

Lovely cosy restaurant although allowing lots of space for dinners between tables, it was a relaxed and almost casual feel. Tempting menu choices - do NOT miss the snacks pre starter. We have the Comte puffs and Truffle pudding - oh my goodness me. They were amazing. Superb staff - so knowledgeable, friendly, professional and accommodating. We also had breakfast here both mornings - incredible experience itself. Beautifully and thoughtfully presented - memorable for breakfast alone! Highly recommended.

We have gone to great lengths to try and use only local produce and suppliers, thus ensuring our quality is always of a very high standard for our guests to enjoy. At The Cavendish Arms you are always guaranteed a warm welcome.
Stayed in this old coaching Inn, in the Village Of Cartmel, Cumbria. What to say? There is only a limited amount to offer re rooms and other facilities. Certainly won't suit everyone. Low beams, small windows and dull decor. But, service excellent. Great value breakfast (beans especially good). Sunday lunch: as good as any other enjoyed anywhere else. An aside, the phone seemed to constantly ring re bookings for this Inn - for races, short breaks, and just to experience the Village. What came first? The Village. The Especially popular L'Enclume Restaurant - with all its additions? Will be returning to check this out in the future.

We dined here in October 2019. Everything about this restaurant is absolutely spot-on - the relaxed, warm welcome and similarly relaxed atmosphere are in contrast to the technical quality of the food and the well-balanced service, which was attentive without being in your face. The accompanying wine flight was expensive for what it was, but I'm not going to begrudge that because it's all part of the experience of dining in a remarkable restaurant such as this. Definitely coming again.

My husband and I came here for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a couple of drinks outside on the upstairs terrace initially, which was lovely, then ate in the bar area downstairs.Food (3 courses) was amazing - especially the scotch egg! Service was prompt and overall it was a lovely evening. Really recommend! Hi 254alia, thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review, and congratulations on your anniversary! We're so pleased to hear that yourself and your husband enjoyed your wedding anniversary at The Mill at Ulverston. We're delighted with your feedback, and hope to see you again very soon.
