Located in Alentejo’s seacoast, in the peaceful village of Grândola, Casa Morgados Boutique Guesthouse is a totally recovered family house with a modern design and bright areas. The 2-storey house is located in the village centre, a 1-hour drive from Lisbon and 20 minutes’ driving from Melides, Aberta Nova and Carvalhal beaches. Troia and Comporta are a 30-minute drive from Casa Morgados Boutique Guesthouse. All rooms have an exclusive décor, air conditioning, cable TV and a private bathroom. Guests can use the outdoor pool and the sun loungers.
My husband and I visited this beautiful Boutique Guest House, recently, during our honeymoon in Portugal. We wanted a week of sun, sea and beach in the Alentejo Coast and Grândola was the ideal place to stay, as you can easily reach all the beaches on that coast and even visit the Algarve, if you so wish. Paula, Rita and D. Antónia were amazing. The room where we stayed was beautiful and D. Antónia had decorated the bed with rose petals and two swans made with towels. The garden is beautiful and looks especially romantic after dark, due to the many lanterns and even a floating light in the pool. We made great use of the jacuzzi, which was very romantic too, with two candles on the wall and ambiance lights. Even though we were there at the end of September the weather got hotter by the day, so we spent most days exploring different beaches, all of which we loved! It felt more like Summer than the beginning of Autumn. We also took a day off sunbathing to go and explore beautiful towns like Beja, Alcácer do Sal and Évora. Breakfast was always amazing: bacon and eggs but also Portuguese and French cheeses, a choice of cold meats, freshly baked cake and Portuguese specialities, juices (orange juice freshly pressed, which I prefer), coffee, espresso, a choice of teas... Always a treat! There is even a small outside kitchen near the pool, which everybody can use. If we go back to that coast we will surely stay in Casa Morgado's again.... If you are after a Quiet and Stylish place to stay, this is surely the place to be! Great for families too!

In the possession of the same family for five generations, the farm represents the pride and also the motivation to assure the continuity along times, strengthening the idea that "Without Agriculture there is no Future". The option for Tourism in Rural Space is integrated in a strategy of diversification of business, gives meaning to the restoration of the buildings in the farm and allows the materialization of an old idea in which the art and pleasure of welcoming come together.Tradition, refinement, comfort and some informality are connected to the concept that guided us from the conception of the interiors and the setting of external space. The use of warm colours and of light helps to compose a picture of tranquillity and relaxation near nature. Come visit us and let you be taken by laziness or take to exhaustion your physical abilities in the countless paths up and down the mountains. The choice will be yours.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay. The herdade is managed by Elsa, Margarida and family. The grounds are very well maintained and the rooms are large. We had a suite and a standard room for our children (8 and 10). The beds in the standard were a bit on the hard side for our taste, but that is personal preference and were fine for the kids. The showers were good and the rooms were cleaned everyday and smelled lovely. The staff are so friendly. The food is flavoursome. They offer lunch and light snacks. For dinner they have recommendations outside the herdade as well. We went on walks on the grounds and it is beautiful. Also our kids enjoyed cuddling the dog benji, the lambs and cows and watching Margarida feed the animals. The pool is great and the loungers comfortable. We also went on a horseride on the beach nearby. Elsa has a lot of great recommendations to explore the area. One recommendation for families is that this is a place that respects tranquility and being in nature. So it depends on what your children are looking for. Thoroughly recommended to escape the city and recharge your batteries.

We really liked the service, the surroundings and the size of the rooms (very big). There's an interior pool and jacuzzi available, several living rooms with fireplaces, tv, internet, pool table, etc. There's a kids park with swigs, a tennis court, a mid sized football field, they serve meals by order and you have a very large area of field and trees to explore, by foot, bicycle or any other way. We really enjoyed our stay, and we would like to come back again, but the rooms could use a renewal. Also, i am not 100% sure if the inner pool is advertised as heated, but it is not heated or at least wasn't during our stay. The jacuzzi however is heated.

Set amongst the rolling pine forests of Melides, this 6 bedroom villa offers total seclusion and has exquisite views overlooking the Atlantic coast, offering almost a 180° sea view and sunsets. Only 5 minutes from Melides town, and 12km from the beach, Pinhal da coutada is perfectly situated to simultaneously offer total tranquility and easy access. With outdoor dining, an outdoor kitchen with BBQ and pizza oven, and an infinity pool to soak up the incredible sunsets, this 16ha plot also offers total connection with nature, with many hiking trails and even a large deck for yoga or alfresco dining with breath taking views. Only 2km from the main road, the dirt road drive to the property really sets the tone for the seclusion and connection to nature you are about to experience during your stay.
We stayed here for our first holidays with our baby (9 months) and it was the best decision we made! Quiet and peaceful whilst still having a bit of trendy hippie-chic atmosphere. The house is perfect: good-sized rooms with private balcony, clean, nicely decorated and with fantastic views over mountains and sea. The pool area is a gem: salt water infinity pool with enough sunbeds for number os guests and good shadow. Breakfast is homemade bliss, I'm still dreaming of Queijadinhas de côco. There is also well equipped kitchen at disposal. The owne, Joaquim, is always there with a smile, ready to go the extra mile for your comfort. Close to beautiful beaches (Comporta, Melides) and little charming towns (Melides and Grândola).

Nômade - Auberge Rurale is a hideaway for people loving comfort, but for whom silence and nature are pure luxury. The endless sandy beaches of Portugals West Coast are only 8 km away. For those, who find the Atlantic to fresh, can take a swim in our natural swimming pool or just chill out in the hammock on the private terrace of their apartment. We serve a rich breakfast, with fresh fruits, free range eggs, cheese from the region and home made jams. Wine lovers find in our bodega a choice of 50 Portuguese wines. Twice a week we offer our Nômade Dinner, tastes from all over the planet composed to a 4-course-menu. Nômade - Auberge Rurale was designed and built between 2013 and 2015. Our purpose was to do it in a sustainable and natural way: The apartments are built of straw, clay and lime (by the way: one of the first straw hotels of Europe) and hot water is produced by solar power. Also the pool is natural, no chlorine, but aquatic plants oxygenate the water and maintain the balance.
I stayed for a week with my family here. The apartment is very comfortable, the property is really nice and the breakfast is excellent! Lots of fruits, delicious homemade hummus, several types of cheese, yoghurts, meats (which we didn’t eat but it was there), egg, etc. really good one. The owners are also very nice and welcoming! Very nice for a few relaxing days in the southern portuguese countryside and at the same time not far from the beach.

Santa Barbara dos Mineiros is a cozy hotel located at Minas do Lousal, included in the project of rehabilitation of this miners' village. 30 Kms south of Grandola, near to the beaches of the Alentejo coast, halfway between Lisbon and the Algarve, it combines charm, contemporaneous decoration and quietness.Housed in the former residence of the Administrators of the Mine of Lousal, it has kept the splendour of the original design of the building, dating back from the 40's of the 20th century, with the decoration both outside and inside marked by the soft and contemporaneous lines of the design, combining traditional materials with the unique quietness of the Alentejo, inviting to well being and relaxation. The eleven rooms and suites are totally equipped for your relaxation, with air conditioning, TV, minibar, and complete bathrooms and all with windows. Some rooms have pleasant private terraces, from where you may feel the special atmosphere of the Alentejo. Inside, enjoy the living room with a fireplace and the bar, or, relax outside, using the sun beds, by the Garden Bar and the 2 pools (one for children). At the reception, you may find bikes to discover the surroundings and visit the Mine Museum, the 'Centro de Ciencia Viva,' the local restaurant 'Armazem Central' the Handicrafts Centre or the Dam.
Muito mau. Terrível. Por favor evitar. Stay away at all costs. Terrible service, no higiene, not run by professionals. 50EUR p/night for this place is an absolute rip off. Avoid the breakfast and any type of food. I was served 1 month old outdated food amd complained to the authorities. Took the effort to write my comments here out of a civic duty to inform how bad is this place. This is a disgrace to Portuguese tourism. EVITAR! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOLE.

Arriving in the afternoon as it was fully packed by families and couples enjoying lunch. Shown to the room. Clean, simple and quiet. Enjoyed a local lunch there, received a chocolate dessert and a strong espresso. Breakfast served in the mornine accompanied by a home made cake. It’s a bit far from beach and other sight seeing places but I had a rental car so I could go everywhere. The owners spoke however hardley any English which made it a bit difficult to communicate because they were so friendly. Enjoyed the place, but you need a car to get there and to go elsewhere.

Very bad. Set in a beautiful l location with enormous potential, the hotel is run down. The room is run down and smells bad. Does not look clean. The breakfast was so terrible i gave up going and went to a nearby cafe. The plates were chipped, no quality, no variety, nothing to eat and i paid a fortune for this dump. It says four stars but i would give it two stars. This hotel needs to be inspected by supervising authority.
