Le Restaurant le Massai

As noted Red Snapper was terrific. My French is rudimentary at best so the kind cook inquired in her rudimentary English as to our tastes. Settled on chicken in peanut sauce for me. Should have asked for more spicy(it wasn't at all), but very nice comfort food. An enjoyable meal of fresh food served with a lovely attitude. And the price is right, which is a surprise in Guadeloupe. Would definitely return.

We were welcomed very kindly. It is a nice place to enjoy your diner. But €90 for two aperatives, two meals and a bottle of wine is way overpriced! Especially in a country like Guadeloupe. And the food was nothing special. But not only going out for diner is expansive here. Also daily groceries are far more expansive as in the Netherlands.

Le Zawag Restaurant Gastronomique de la Creole Beach Hotel & Spa

I was very much looking forward to dining here as we were staying literally steps up from this restaurant in the Corail building of the La Creole Resort. This a beautiful atmospheric dining room, all teak wood and open to the sea, protected by plantation shutters. Its a fabulously unique and intimate dining room. Unfortunately waiting for our dinner took over an hour after the very disappointing and overpriced appetizer (a rubbery cold Asian style rice wrapper spring roll filled with next to nothing). The atmosphere is indeed spectacular in every way, dimly lit, romantic, built right into the cliff rocks open to the crashing waves so that certainly helped with the wait, but our wines quickly turned warm as our patience grew thin. My lobster, fished out earlier from the tank right near us, was good but SO overpriced! $55 USD ( 9 euros/ per 100 grams) compared to better seasoned fresh grilled lobsters at other restaurants, including one at Zion Train in Anse-Bertrand that was literally half that price but not half the size. The lobster came with a spoonful of pumpkin puree and a cubed eggplant ratatouille. Nothing bad but a weird flavor combo and just not that enjoyable. My husband liked his lobster pasta but I found it too creamy and one dimensionally seasoned. Frankly, the overly long wait for our entrees kind of ruined the dining experience, coupled with the high prices. Desserts were also extremely expensive and considering how long we waited for our entrees, we passed. In summary I think you should dine here if you're staying at the hotel but maybe skip the appetizers and focus on the less costly items so as to not feel ripped off. Its also possible that the daily specials are a better option but I personally did not want to order what was on offer the night we dined there. My impression is that the chef is "dialing it in" for resort guests, but maybe we were just there on an off night. Definitely reserve a few days in advance and maybe ask for one of the table towards the back of the restaurant/and by the windows for the best dining atmosphere if you don't mind dim lighting. There are a few tables in the front that are bright, especially the ones near the hostess stand. The other option is to have lunch here, which seemed very pleasant, breezy and relaxing, especially after a morning swimming and sunning at the beach and pool.

Set on the marina, we had a wonderful seafood dinner here, consistent with other reviewers experience. Sea Berry does offer a menu in English, which we found (embarrassingly) helpful, with a good selection of tasty seafood options and nice dessert choices. We enjoyed a relaxing evening of good food and friendship here, and would recommend it to other travelers.

Le Ti Maki

We had 2 delicious meals at Le Ti Maki during our recent visit to Guadeloupe. We made reservations in advance for the first evening, arriving late after a delayed flight from New York. The restaurant was very accommodating - facilitated by it being a Thursday night. We enjoyed our meal so much that we made reservations for the last evening of the trip. The menu changes regularly. Each dish was flavorful with careful preparation. Portions were generous and we enjoyed the side dishes. I had a memorable marinated marlin dish. My husband had octopus prepared in a tomato sauce. The wine and drink list was excellent. We also loved the atmosphere - kind of an upscale beach shack. It was casual and inviting. The waitress was efficient. I speak serviceable French and we had to go back and forth a few times until we understood each other, but she did it with good cheer. The restaurant is a comfortable walk up the hill from La Creole and the other hotels on Pointe Verdure. Highly recommended for an excellent meal that will not break the bank.

This is a super laid back little spot to try the fine island rums including aged rhum agricoles of Martinique and Guadeloupe. Its also a great place for late night tapas dining, with offerings such as Chinese steamed dumplings, sushi and grilled yakitori. Not expensive either, just relaxed and very welcoming. Located right across the parking lot from La Creole Beach resort, and also convenient for either before/after dinner at the very excellent L'Oursin Blanc, located the same Pointe de la Verdure building complex.

I dined there with family ( 11 persons in total, kids included) I don't understand how this restaurant has 4.5 stars. I believe it's a lie and maybe friends or family of the workers who wrote most of these reviews. The best part about this restaurant was the chef and waitress. They are very friendly and accommodating.... sadly it's not enough to save the disaster called this restaurant. My aperitif was the strongest planteur I have ever drank! My husband ( who is Italian) ordered a pizza which came with a medium cooked egg in the center, the egg was not in the ingredients listed and the pizza was terrible! It even looked unappetizing. He did the sign of the cross before eating. I had chicken with fries which was very tasty, but the mixed fish dish tasted odd.... not fresh. Lastly we could not use the toilet due to no water.... when leads to the question of. How was the meals prepared? How did the chef keep his hands clean? I tried not to think of this while eating. So now I'm farting up a storm! Save yourself!!Do not dine here.

Took ride into Le Gosier and had a coke on the beach at Casa Datcha. Nice little bar and grill on the beach with chairs and swinging hammocks for seating. Right on the beach. Parking very limited in the area.
