Reviews on European food in Strasbourg, Grand Est, France. You view great wine as the essence of a good vacation. Your travel companion, however, is a beer aficionado. Will it be Paris or Munich? Stop arguing and go to Strasbourg, where you can have the best of French and German cuisine, including the booze. The entire central island is a World Heritage Site. Don’t miss the 12th-century cathedral or the storybook "la Petite France" neighborhood.

An uninspiring front hides a small but perfectly formed restaurant with about 11 covers that produce exquisite French food.Try the raw fish and the crem brûlée House wine is perfect with the fishThe hosts are very helpful so donât be afraid to ask questions. They will serve you fast or slow what ever your request.Just donât expect large portions this is the French way of dining small and delicious But after 3 Corses donât worry you will be content. Will be revisiting when I head back

+ authentic Alsatian food+ gracious accommodating staff + delightful assortment of fresh cabbage salads as an appetizer + good selection of reasonable Alsatian wines.+ Great assortment of fresh cabbage dishes for appetizers. An oft overlooked feature of Alsatian cuisine. Donât miss it.- Choucroute was soggy and blandâperhaps this is more authentic, but it was definitely treated as a side dish, not an honored staple.- staff was stretched thin the night we were there, although the restaurant was only 2/3 full.- Decor is rather tiered and uninspired.

Small old building in the old part of this little town, freshly refurbished, with two small dining rooms at first and ground floor. At lunchtime it was full with groups looking like coworkers and friends from nearby. We took one of two lunch specials: a quite good, small and thick steak, very well cooked if slightly more than we expected having asked it "saignant" or rare, with abundant herb-flavoured butter (a bit more substantial and fat than we like, still fully expected in French and Central European cooking. Make sure you like garlic). A huge salad and plentiful, well cooked fried potatoes turned this into a more than satisfactory full lunch. Service was quick and nice, price extremely reasonable at 10 Euros per person without drinks. When we turned down alcoholic drinks they kindly offered tap water as the next option. While France restaurants must provide it upon request, it's nice to see them putting a nice face and looking like they welcome this option. You could have other a-la-carte options, if they would take some more time to be prepared at lunchtime. I wish we'll have a chance to get back here for dinner sometimes.bonjourmerci pour votre visite et votre commentaireau plaisir salutations sabine et alain

restaurant réputé dans la région strasbourgeoise, excellente adresse connue des fonctionnaires européens de passage à Strasbourg
Intimate and laid back atmosphere, excellent service, and fine food. It could probably be eligible for a Michelin note; in the meantime, it is reasonably priced. Warmly recommended. Advance booking highly advisable, since tables are very few.

Staying close by I booked this restaurant for our first night in Strasbourg. We arrived early and were quickly and happily shown to our table. The menu is just the right size with multiple option but not too overwhelming. The fois gras was wonderful and my friend and I shared the canard with orange & cognac and the boeuf with mushrooms. Both were superb. Our waiter selected a bottle of wine to accompany our meal and it was perfect. PS. We dined here the night of the Christmas Market shooting. Our host kept us up to date with what was going on, made us feel very safe and were very accommodating.

Prebooked our table, which was necessary as restaurant is quite small and popular.Received nice welcome on arrival, good start! We were given a tablet to pick our meal off as all menus were in French and our French is not the best!Several of us had asparagus soup with duck croutons, excellent! For the main I had chicken munster cordon bleu, it was very nice though not the best I had in Strasbourg. Several of our group had the apple strudel which looked great. Service was fantastic, hostess taking an interest in us and where we were from, so much better than the restaurant we visited the previous night!! Good food, service and atmosphere would recommend.

Restaurant Winstub, convivial. Cuisine du patron, travail sur des produits frais. Cuisine sans prétention goûteuse et généreuse.
A scrumptious lunch of ham potatoes, sauerkraut, and salad with my wife. The server was happy and friendly, spoke English and guided us to some very tasty dishes. Just a few meters off the main streets provides a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. â¬40 for lunch, no drinks

Dans un cadre des plus romantique et dans une ambiance des plus prestigieuse, regalez-vous aupres de plats finement cuisines, pour un voyage des sens assure.
So Dissapointed, let down and not happy with blanket dismissal with no apology. Preparing for a trip to France is difficult, so much history, beautiful countrysides and of course the gastronomic delights of the Food/Wine etc. present many options and so choosing a Restaurant for my wife's birthday in Strasbourg required the use of Google/Facebook/Trip Advisor and Michelin Guide. After much deliberation we decided on Au Crocodile 6 course set menu and Matching Wines. I even offered to pre pay via their gift box option... thankfully I didnt !!All correspondence was done through email so I have written records and multiple questions and replys/confirmation of booking going back to May 2019. We arrived in Strasbourg last night 2/8/19 and went for a walk through Petite France, chancing on a wine bar we had a chat and some wines with the owner and mentioned we were going to Au Crocodile for Julie's birthday tomorrow night.... " But it is closed???" He said... we scanned our emails and found the email trail confirming the booking for 3 August..."Let me call and check and see if I can get you in to their other restaurant" he generously offered. "No. They are fully booked and when I told them you had come from Australia and had a confirmed booking by email they said - we emailed all our bookings... can you please check again to see if you have an email.Definitely, nothing after this :"....Thank you for your phone number,The price will be the same on the night. So this not an obligation to purchase it online. Looking forward to welcome you, Best regards, Astrid CAVENNEService Commercial - Sales Department...... " So we are here in Strasbourg with no booking and unable to boom into any equivalent 5 Star restaurant on a busy Saturday night... not happy. Bien cordialement . Le Responsable des relations clients .

The Café Potager is a fast-good located in the city center of Strasbourg. Home cooking, local products and coffee provided by a Strasbourg artisan roaster. Between fast food and traditional coffee, vegans and carnivores will find their accounts!
A nice and new café in Strasbourg. The food is delicious, veggie options, the cakes are amazing and the staff is lovely and welcoming. Most important part : the coffee's good ! The café in itself has this coffeeshop kind of vibe, music but not loud enough to disturb you, wifi, plugs at every seat ! Can't wait to see this place run at full potential ! (Give them time they are 1 month old )Merci beaucoup pour cet avis :)
