Find out what Middle Eastern restaurants to try in Visby. Visby is one of Scandinavia's preeminent medieval cities. Every August, it hosts its medieval week, complete with authentic dress, feasts and jousting. But you don’t need to visit Visby in August to get a sense of its medieval history. Just follow the cobblestone streets that wind throughout the city, take a tour of its Old Town and visit the 13th-century church. You certainly can’t miss the 13th-century wall that stretches three kilometers around the city and was once used as the city’s defense from intruders.

Traveling for one week in Scandanavia, we were a little tired of fish so eager for a different cuisine when we walked past Beyrouth. We immediately made a booking for that evening, its last for the summer before it closed. We were not disappointed; although on a side street, its nice side porch was a great place to people watch as we nibbled on good Lebanese food. We shared one of their specialties, lamb shish kebab which came with three different dips and bread and salad. It was a huge serving, more than enough for two people to share. The lamb was a little disappointing; it seemed a little processed like meat used for making lamb gyros. We would probably have been better with chicken. But still good as were all the dips and side dishes. Refreshing to eat something different and service was friendly.

This place together with Lilla Elefanten used to make the best pizzas ever, but having visited twice in October this year I must say that I am very disappointed. The service is good and the staff nice, but food hygiene is poor. We saw one member of staff take frozen chicken straight from the freezer to the microwave and then put on pizzas! Luckily we did not have chicken on our pizzas. It is also very dirty in places (especially behind the salad bar) and these are only things we noticed when waiting for our pizzas. This used to be such a good place I really hope they clean their act up. Pizzas still taste very nice though.
Pizzas come in two sizes: normal (40cm diameter) and family (stupendous). Don't expect English, options or sit down but the default was tasty. Menu is reasonably long, quite a few dishes are spicy. We had two pizzas and a salad and they were all good though none was exceptional. It's possible they were exceptional before we carried them back to our hotel through rain. Was pretty busy (seemed like lots of phone orders) on the Thursday night we visited, despite rain, maybe because there's not a lot else around.
We are a local a la carte and pizza restaurant located in north of Visby. We serve a fusion of swedish husman with influences from the Mediterranean and ofcourse Gotland
they had tons of pizza options but i had had too much pizza the past few days. the lovely gentleman manning the register invited me in the back to make sure the ingredients i wanted on my pasta would be ok...so, i know the kitchen is clean and my pasta was yummy. my husband's pizza was also good and they accommodated his request for more meat. lovely staff and indoor and outdoor seating options. don't forget to ask for your pizza to be sliced!Thank you for your kind words!
