Oi Izakaya is a Japanese restaurant and bar nestled in the James Street alleyway. Specialized in Okonomiyaki - a savoury Japanese pancake with a range of fillings - we also serve house made gyozas (dumplings), the best karaage chicken you have ever had an
Dined here with friends, loved the Japanese pancake, very reasonably priced, well cooked, we had the seafood version and very filling. Good service. The only negative is the wine list, with the cheapest bottle of white wine $65.00 A bit steep for the coastHey mate! Thanks for the positive review. We agree on our wine list - that was an error on our part in setting up the menu. We have always had bottles available from $50 but just failed to make that clear on our first draft of the menu but we have updated it now. Bottles from $48 which I hope you agree is a bit more reasonable

This small restaurant is well worth a visit. The menu is a mixture of different Asian cuisines and everything looks delicious. The menu reads well with small courses, share platters and larger dishes. We shared the Korean fried cauliflower, the assorted xo sauce with assorted mushrooms with garlic crumbs. The cauliflower dish was very generous and not too spicy. The mushrooms were delicious. We also shared the tuna sushimi which was lovely and light. We indulged and ordered the green tea tiramisu. Perfect.I could have ordered anything on the menu. Will always return if on the Gold Coast.

Japanese style Fish & Chips !! We used organic ingredients to blend Japanese flavor with traditional fish and chips from Australia. The unique Panko is an exceptional one. We also handle various drinks. We look forward to meeting you guys.
My family dined here once before, and suggested I should try too. It was the best fish burger Iâve ever had! My kids insisted I tried chips too. It was nice and crunchy, not those soggy mushy ones we normally get elsewhere. Iâd normally remove crumbs as well because itâs normally thick and âheavyâ, but like other reviews said, it was nice and light. If we are in the area, Iâd go back. Iâd want to try others on the menu too! If I must mention something negative, itâs the parking. We parked on the street, but there are allocated parking lot for the customers within the complex!? (Or maybe we didnât look well enough)

Inspired by traditional Yakitori bars, we focus on unique cuts of chicken cooked over Japanese binchotan charcoal. We also have a delicious selection of raw dishes, meat & seafood and vegetarian and vegan options. We have a Japanese inspired cocktail list
Definite must try. Great to sit around the grill and watch the food being prepared. Kingfish sashimi to die for ....... actually, everything we had to eat was a taste sensation. love the decor and the way Iku is hidden from the main street. A whisky bar with a huge selection. Will definitely be back and have recommended to friends.

Showcasing amazing coffees, smoothies, fresh and honest food - the art of health and happiness!!! Open for breakfast + lunch 7 days a week, dinner with live music Thursday - Saturday evenings.
We had a wonderful breakfast here this morning. We found this place last night after leaving a different restaurant and had a great time with live music and cocktails. We came back for breakfast (I had the toasted muesli) and again there was live music, and great food. The staff are so friendly and courteous, the food is amazing and nothing but good vibes here!!! One of my new fave spots methinks

This was our first visit to Etsu, on a packed Saturday night. The food was very good indeed. We shared a variety of dishes and all were lovely, fresh, tasty and generous.Given the crowd I was skeptical that the service would suffer but that was not the case at all. The service efficient, regular and friendly - all night. There is a lot going on here on a busy night which gave the place a big atmosphere.Very enjoyable meal and evening. Thanks Etsu staff.

WAZEN opened early May 2014 in West Burleigh. Our chef owner is very particular about the ingredients he serves his customers and as such, uses free range chicken, advocates no MSG, serves gluten free dishes and also provides vegetarian dishes. We serve f
Firstly very easy to access from the motorway, plenty of parking of an evening. Food was delicious and overall reasonably priced, loved the seared scallops. Staff friendly and attentive, all made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Option to eat in or out.

Pan-Asian flavours in one of the Gold Coast's most iconic locations. Focusing on fresh locally sourced produce with intention to share.
Perhaps our expectations were too high but I found Rick Shores a bit underwhelming. The location can't be faulted and the service was excellent. The staff fussed over my elderly mother which made her day and we certainly enjoyed gazing out over the beach on a sparkling winter's day but I was disappointed in the food - the curries were too rich and lacked the zing that I expect from seafood and curry. I can't understand why they would cut up the prawns in the prawn curry - and where was the freshness that should come with a Thai style prawn curry? The duck curry was nice - but again lacked zing and the pork belly, although tasty was overpriced. The fresh roti were delicious - but very pricey. I would probably return - for the views but would aim for some of their smaller, lighter offerings.
