House-made cheeses and cured meats compliment a small, yet varied menu. Meals are designed to enhance the strong wine program. We take the wine and food seriously but ourselves... Not so much. We offer a casual, fun, evening that includes top notch food, wine & spirits.
This place is un-apologetically not for everyone, as it is not well-suited for loud/misbehaving children and they don't really do dessert. (They will humor you with a good root beer float.) It is a quiet, refined, one-man-show of a restaurant. The menu is limited but delicious. The tomato salad was good; the lemon-drizzled avocado was divine. Duck was great. Steak great. The mashed potato with its crispy outer layer...yummo. Service is pleasantly unhurried. A favorite spot of ours, and the owner has a great sense of humor.

This is a typical independent coffee shop situated inside a large bookstore. They serve your usual espresso, latte, cappucino, etc., but also have some unique drinks such as a Mexican Mocha. I like my coffee black, and the Americano I ordered was delicious. No bitterness at all!
Smoothies, ice cream, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and bagels are also on the menu. I tried the peach scone, which was more like a sweet mini apple pie.
The staff are very friendly, and it seemed to be a local hotspot. Prices are a bit higher than I'm used to in Canada, but that seemed consistent all along the coast.

We were passing through Gold Beach, driving down the Oregon coast and picked Barnacle Bistro based on TripAdvisor. The service was a bit slow, but otherwise fine. My sandwich was good, served with a couscous salad, which was quite tasty. My husband quite liked his soup. As it is small restaurant, the kitchen is right next to the dining room and it seemed rather smoky. The acid test: would I go back? Yes, it is worth another try.

This little coffee stop is wonderful. We loved the art on the walls, and the tables provide plenty of seating.
They also have snacks like bagels and things available, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
There is hot cocoa and smoothies - perfect for our kiddos, steamers, coffee and espresso, etc. There is a full range of flavors to add to your drinks - caramel in my mocha made with almond milk (.50 extra for soy or almond milk) was perfect.
It's just a two second walk from the cool wreck (Mary D I believe) so it was nice to stop in and take our coffee to see it. We also enjoyed the Christmas shoppe in the same building.
Overall we will be back!

We had been in the car all day. This was within walking distance of our hotel - on a Monday night, we were seated right away. Very attentive server (the bartender even came to our table to see if we were enjoying our cocktails). Great food, pleasant ambiance - save room for dessert.

Breakfast and lunch only. Huge omelet selection.
I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. Nice crust on the hash and eggs perfectly over easy. My wife had the two eggs and toast, again done perfectly. We are locals and eat here at least 4 times a week for breakfast and have...MoreThanks David!

We took pizzas for 'Take and Bake". They were thin crust and yummy. Easy to bake at our VRBO. Inside had fantastic views of the water.

We stayed at the Pacific Reef two nights and decided to try this place because it was close and seemed pretty low key. It was ok. Staff was ok. Food was average. next morning we drove a mile up the Rogue to the Indian Creek cafe. they got five stars

We stopped in for lunch because this restaurant was across from a museum and we were starving and didn't want to hunt for a place to eat. We were there between lunch and dinner so there was barely any clientele.
The service was friendly and fast, the food tasty, and the restaurant cute and clean.
We will definitely stop again next time we come this way.

We stayed next door at the Pacific Reef Hotel where we received a $10 credit for breakfast for each day we stayed there. We were delightfully surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the quality and quantity of the food. My husband loved the breakfast burrito - which had many choices for what’s inside as well as the tortilla wrap itself. The French toast was a favorite and the pancakes were so good. They both came with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Coffee was great - love the Portland Roasting Coffee. In the early mornings there was only one person doing the cooking as well as taking orders so be patient and squeeze the shark (you’ll know what I mean when you arrive ). The chef/servers were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and cozy atmosphere. Good eats meant a good start to our days!
