We went there with another family on a Saturday night. We did pre booking for seat. The ambiance is great. We had garlic and butter nan, Lamb , beef dishes and finally the much hyped Kulfi. All the food were really good, except the almond kulfi i ordered. After tasting normal kulfi, i regret ordering special Almond coffe kulfi. Another thing that i didn't notice (they didn't warn at the time of booking or even after the first food is served) is that minimum per head $30 to be spend, including for kids. Since we were 8 people, we had to take some take away food to meet this amount.Other than that, the food is good, there is parking in front street and you are lucky to get a parking place.

Having eaten Indian in Sydney during our recent visit we thought we would try a local Indian restaurant for comparison. TA reviews on Tandoori Cottage were positive so we booked on a Saturday evening. Just as well. All tables were reserved but fortunately we were early diners. We started with Samosa & Roti bread to share. Food delivery was slow but we were unhurried. Mains of butter chicken & Saaghost were extremely slow & we were glad we arrived early as by now all tables were full & service by the 3 serving staff who were also assisting in the kitchen was a problem for the latter arrivals. The restaurant is extremely popular for takeaway & we observed that just as many dishes were for takeaway as those served in the restaurant. However the food quality was excellent & we would return to try a couple of other dishes we observed on the night but probably not on a Saturday. Several larger groups contributed to a high noise level. Certainly worth a visit if you are into Indian food

I went to Roti & Roti for the food, which was lucky as there is no ambiance. The service was friendly and the furnishings were 'basic'. That said, the food was very tasty and plentiful. The curries and satays were full of flavour and the rotis were very good, Our group of four enjoyed the dinner, but might have enjoyed it more if we had ordered takeaway and eaten at home.

Really happy to have a terrific Indian restaurant near us! Comfortable little place with friendly, efficient service. We played it straight with butter chicken and beef vindaloo, both excellent. The new samosa covered in chick pea mix entree was superb! We took a bottle of wine ($6 corkage) but a nice little wine list available. Modest $80 for two mains and entrees. Rice and butter naan included with mains. Highly recommended. Maybe 4 1/2 stars but I can walk there so....

It appears the restaurant owner is an arrogant unsocial and a pushy person who believes in extracting money rather respecting the customer. Décor is no doubt good but behaviour of the staff is miserable. Food quality is ordinary and quantity is less. Plates are worn out with scuffmarks. But napkins are clean. The price of the food items is also not low.My suggestion is that the owners should visit a few good restaurants and learn how to behave with customers. Staff is pushy to ask you to order that you may even not like to eat. Credit card machine does not work appears to be an excuse.

Indian food in melbourne is pretty bad on the whole, but this place does some fantastic meals. It's a quiet local place, byo and good prices too. And it's a really nice couple who run it. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Indian Palace is well known for high-quality food and service. When it comes to the World of tasty food, none could ever outclass us. The exceptional flavors of our menu will delight and inspire, as only the finest and freshest ingredients are used.
Just a few seconds from the train station this popular Indian restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is traditional Indian and the servings are generous and full of flavour. The drinks prices are slightly in the high side but you are in Brighton. The service though is the ratings winner here. Very attentive and courteous. They did get one order slightly mixed up (we got a plain naan, not the butter naan that we ordered) but we didnât feel the need to complain. It still tasted great. Judging from the crowds and the amount of Uber eats being picked up this is a good place to try out sometime.

My husband and I have just had what he describes as, 'the best meal in his life!' It was a lunch with friends at Tara. There were seven of us, so we were able to sample a goodly array of dishes and each one was superb. The service was friendly, helpful and informative, the prices reasonable and the food - absolutely delicious. I suspect that we all ate much more than is usual for lunch and we'll all be having a very light dinner tonight. Two of our friends have returned from travels in India only days ago and said the food at Tara is better than anything they ate in India.
