We enjoyed a savory breakfast while staying in Lake Oswego for a family reunion. The food was very good, the aroma of fresh bread enticing, and the coffee fantastic. We enjoyed watching the kids play on the plaza outside, and watching the ducks land on the lake next door. I would want to try their lunch menu next time!

Great local eating establishment!!
This place is clean and bright, the menu is long and interesting, service is fast and friendly, the food is great, and there’s plenty of free parking. There were three of us for lunch. I had the burger with bacon and cheese which was cooked perfectly, and my wife and her friend had the daily special which was fried razor clams that were excellent. I will definitely be back the next time I visit West Linn.

After we were unsuccessful in getting into another Milwaukie restaurant for dinner without reservations on Thursday evening, we decided to give Hale's a try. We knew the reviews were good for breakfast, but had no idea what to expect for an evening meal.
First of all, the service was excellent. We were seated and offered beverages immediately and no fewer than three servers stopped to refill my husband's coffee during our stay. Everyone we met was pleasant and helpful.
I ordered the meat loaf special. I was given a choice between brown and ham gravy, which I thought was sort of strange, but I chose the brown gravy. It was very thick and did not look appetizing, but it was delicious. My arteries may have clogged up completely, but I would definitely order it again. The meat loaf was acceptable and the mashed potatoes were good. I opted for a salad to start and was pleasantly surprised. It had beets, large slices of cucumber, and very good croutons, much better than the iceberg lettuce and shaved carrots usually served in this type of restaurant. My husband enjoyed a reuben sandwich and onion rings. The bill for the two of us was only $17.
We will definitely go back to Hale's, especially for breakfast. The pancake menu looks fabulous.

This small café has very good food and excellent coffee. I've had a couple of different sandwiches, and both have been exceptionaly good. They have veggie options as well as meat. The potato salad that comes with the sandwich, tasted almost as good as home made. You also get your choice of four different breads. The place has a nice relaxing vibe. I'll certainly go again.

Consistently good coffee and great service. They do try to keep the line moving as fast as possible, but it will still back up traffic.
Park and walk up if possible, it makes it less stressful than sitting in the road with your blinker on. This really upsets prople just trying to move thru.

We had a craving for Indian food and was surprised one was near on the neighborhood. We were staying nearby at a hotel visiting. We passed by it the first time. It is in the neighborhood in a small convenient store like structure. We were greeted by a lovely couple whom we found out were the owners.
We sat outside at a table for 4 for our dinner. The menu was simple and the chicken masala and saag was ordered along with naan. The saag did not have cream but was made with a tomato base. I like it better this way. The chicken masala was full of flavor. The portions were generous. We brought some back to the hotel. The best surprise was the inexpensive beer on tap and bottled. It has been marked to come back again to trial the other dishes.

Since I live about 2 miles away, I hit Roake's all the time for either lunch or dinner. I typically go for the chili burger...a good sized patty with that grilled burger taste, and chili that I easily finish. Or..the long sausage or long regular dog. A foot long that has that "snap". For a dog/burger place that looks old on the outside, is a great experience.
Kids like the idea of ordering food, and the window girl gives you a playing card. When you hear your card on the speaker, it is chow time!!

Husband loved his spicy chicken sandwich with a green salad and I had the Mac and cheese, all was great, interesting little spot. Grandson got bread pudding dessert and while I didn't taste it, it was tempting and obviously one of the dishes they are known for. Good service, a little pricey, some unique dishes offered.
