The history of Anchor Inn SAM'S Anchor Inn the first and still largest Teppan yaki steak house in Okinawa and Japan's most famous Teppan yaki restaurant. We've served many international celebrities.
The Sam's restaurant was highly recommend from our tour guide book. So we were choose this but it's absolutely not make me disappointed. They provide fresh food meat & seafood for teppanyuki, nice environment & professional chef. He was show his unique skills & perform extremely well in front of you. Finally the price is also reasonable not expensive. We will back again when we visit Okinawa!

Nostalgic as A&W no longer operates in my country. Still great tasting as ever. I love the curly fries. This outlet has a big open area outside where there are individual tent umbrellas sheltering round stone tables. There is also a children's playground with sand and slide etc for the children to enjoy.

Awesome broth, firm nooldes and delicious pork! Very different from the Mainland type, Shuri Soba offers a staple of Okinawan cuisine that you'll not forget. Rich taste, but light on the stomach and the wallet this is a great spot to try one of the Islands most famous meals.
Only a few minutes from Shuri Castle it's a perfect break after or before exploring the castle area.
Sit down, slurp your noodles and enjoy some Okinawan culture!

We walked past on our return from Shuri castle walking to Shuri station.
Decided to try the food. A Japanese couple were obviously enjoying their pig trotters soba, slurping and muttering oishi.
Personally we didnt find the food extra ordinary. In Tokyo it would be considered average cafe food. But fast service and nice garden

For traditional Okinawan cuisine, this is the real deal. Small restaurant but big on the quality of the food. Everything here is tasty. Go for the noodles with pork ribs, sea squid with noodles, sea grapes and don't forget the pork belly. The lady serving us spoke English so you wont have difficulty ordering the food.
Located on a side street just off the famous Kokusai Dori Shopping belt. Skip the restaurants on this stretch just make a beeline for Yunangi. You wont regret it!

An amazing menu of the wildest concoctions of ice creams you could imagine. Whether you want to eat any.... some are good others are Asian taste only.

Do NOT pass up the large, plastic menu sheets sitting on the counter where you pay !
They have SEVERAL large combination deals that are MUCH better then just getting a couple of
scoops of ice cream. I made that mistake, but they do NOT hand the menu sheets to you when you walk in. Nice place, good atmosphere, it's been there for DECADES. You should go try it, and they TAKE ALL KINDS of Credit / Debit Cards !

English review is avaliable after the japanese one.
Every summer when I came back in Okinawa I go to Umichika Shokudou (witch mean "cafeteria close from the sea). Food isn't the best in the island but it's good enough and the atmosphere of the place is simple but agreeable. In summer maybe eating in the outside would be pretty hot but this also is a good "Okinawa" experience. My choice in Umichika is the "Sooki Soba", a hot soba soup with meat. Delicius!

I'm a big fan of soba and tried many places already in Okinawa and this is so far my favorite unless I find another place. Place is packed everyday with no parking and at minimum 30 minute wait. Filled with locals at all times. Must try.

My wife's cousin and husband were in town and they wanted to eat at King Tacos. Interestingly enough I've always wanted to go and try their offerings to see how they measured up with the island's other taco joints. My wife ordered the 4 piece tacos while I went for their taco rice and vegetables. I was amazed at the amount of shredded lettuce heaped upon the mountain of rice, beef and cheese, if anything it was visually impressive. The Taco Rice was ok, I've had better at other places and I found it kinda strange that there were no tomatoes on top. My wife wasn't impressed by the tacos either. So all in all it was average at best, if you want tastier tacos I think Charlie's Tacos on Chou Park Avenue near Kadena Air Base or Mexico located near Camp Foster are a far better choice. As for Taco Rice, I think you can find better choices anywhere else, though not at the portion size of King Tacos.
