Taotin Restaurant is located in Bairiki and only 5 minutes walk to ANZ bank, Finance, foreign affairs, immigration, health clinics, Mary's motel, fisheries, home affairs, women's center etc.

This was my 3rd visit to this remote isolated pacific island/atoll in Tarawa-Kiribati, arrived on the 14/02/13 for a 3 week stay, being a tourist & with very few other tourists in Tarawa I was travelling on a tight budget with my accommodation & all my meals........ However during my 2 previous visits I remembered this reataurant & was happy to re-visit TAOTIN RESTAURANT, it's only a 3 min's walk from the ANZ bank in Bairki town. The staff are very friendly [ some speak little english], the food is not expensive, the service is fast, the meal portions are OK, some times differcult with the order from the menu especially with short supply with stock. Your able to sit outside under shaded large colourful covers [like large umbrellers] frustrating at times with the flies, or relax inside with the electric fans. the atmosphere is a comfortable setting & appears to attract many of the foreign local workers & business people from overseas & the odd tourist like myself !!!!The manager is from the Philippines & he's just there working on a contract, he made me very welcome & his staff, we had many long conversations............. This restaurant is really the only place you can relax & sit outside the restaurant around Bairki & watch daily Tarawa life passing you................. a great place to visit & catch up with everyone............ good luck to all the staff.
2. Paradise Chinese

Pretty much all the restaurants on Tarawa serve the same food, which is very similar to cheap Chinese takeaways at home (New Zealand). Paradise does decent versions of these. I recommend their fried rice, chicken chop seuy, red pork and vegetables or sweet and sour fish.
3. Fair Price Golden Restaurant

This is a very spacious reataurant, specializing mainly in Chinese food and bakery products. it is modern and clean and about as close to a western quality restaurant that Tarawa has. Good quality food and pretty fair prices. There is a great view of the beautiful lagoon if you walk out to the waterfront side of the restaurant. I returned here several times and was pleasantly suprised with the food , staff and the surrounds each time.
