We lunched here in May, so good! Fabulous yakisoba and okonomiyaki (sometimes referred to as "Japanese pizza"), lovely staff, other customers welcoming too. Very popular with locals. Last time I ate here was 15 years ago and I donât think the food has changed a bit. Yum. Take away, or eat at a small communal table inside or a few seats outside. Don't worry if you can't speak or read Japanese, just point to the food they are cooking up in front of you, or ask for "okonomiyaki" or, if you prefer noodles, "yakisoba". But do try the okonomiyaki if you've not had it before. Love this place.

On our first Nakasendo walking day we started in Mitake and this restaurant was recommended by our guide. 1000Â¥ each for lunch. Good valueWe ate grilled makeral set - fish, rice, miso, pickles. I had pork tenderloin Katsu with miso sauce, rice, miso and salad. All very good and fresh.No one spoke English but there was a menu in English with pictures.Good way to start a walk.
