Reviews on Bar food in Hamburg, Germany. Second only to Berlin in size and population, the city of Hamburg is home to one of the biggest harbors in Europe. A stroll along its many waterways and canals illustrates why it has been called the "Venice of the North." Don't miss a trip to the local fish market (Fischmarkt), the Merchants District (marked by its imposing red-brick architecture), a fine dining experience along the river or a night out in the university quarter. And did we mention the Reeperbahn (red light district)? It's quite famous for its… red lights.

Burger and Cocktailbar in the heart of Hamburg. All homemade. Everything fresh.
We stumbled across this bar/restaurant whilst walking round Hamburg. This place is small but thatâs what we loved about it. The food was excellent and so tasty, we all had the steak and fries and it was a huge portion. The steak tasted amazing . We would highly recommend this restaurant and would love to visit again when we are next in Hamburg. Itâs a must go to place if your in the city.

Authentic Philly cheesesteak in Hamburg, Germany?Yep! The owner visited and tried number of places in Philadelphia, bringing back the best of what makes these so good.Super attentive and friendly service, family friendly as well with a great vibe in the expanded dining room too.Your only issue will be WHICH to choose from off of the extensive menu. My suggestion? Bring friends and have everyone order something different so you can taste test the many varieties! You're welcome.

This attractive jugenstil-period bar is located conveniently on the attractive, cobbled Grossneumarkt 'market' square. They serve the excellent Augustinerbrau beer from Bavaria. Combined with the traditional, local Frikadellen meat patties, fried potatoes and kohlrabi, this is the perfect working-man's lunch. Really excellent and inexpensive. Service is polite, quick and efficient. Foreigners are most welcome too! As an aside, the loos are worth a mention: the gents' is tiny yet spotless, with very low mirrors in front of the urinals!

We came here with my family for dinner. The food is just terrible, fat and unhealthy. The place was dirty and the service is very rude. We kindly asked to clean the table before they serve but they preferred to just ignore us. We asked to talk with the owner but they said he was not available to talk to us. We felt miserable here. This is not a family restaurant, this is a dirty bar where Kids are not welcome. We ordered schnitzel, with French fries and salat. I was sick the whole night with stomachache. Avoid this place.

Good food for low prices in this apparently very popular restaurant in downtown Hamburg. Friendly and pleasantly down-to-earth service made it a quite simple and basic but altogether rather memorable dining experience.

Stopped for Burgerlich for lunch on a Sunday. Its different to most burger restuarants in that you order from a pop up touch screen at your seat and pay when you've finished. It makes the dining experience a little impersonal as you only really interact with the staff when they bring your food and drinks. We ordered burgers, fries (which were very, very thin) and broccoli. My burger was dry and salty as was the broccoli. The only good thing were the fries, but they were difficult to eat due to size. Service was OK but it was not an enjoyable meal, particularly for the cost.Hello Hannah, pity that you did not like it so much. Could it be that you did not order the fries but the Allumettes? Which vegetables did you have, as we do not actually have broccoli. Please write to [email protected]. Best regards Lena from your Burgerlich team

As vegans we chose Otto's as it offers plant-based burgers. I wanted to try Beyond Meat but it was unavailable. In fact we were told it was sold out all over Germany, which is good news as it means veganism is growing fast. In fact later in our holiday I had a taste of Beyond Meat and found it alarmingly meaty, so with hindsight I was glad to eat Otto's other vegan burger which was luscious. Lovely sweet potato fries too, and their own beer went down well on a warm day.The reason for giving four stars rather than five was the unpleasant smell in the stairs down to the toilets!
