During a recent get-away road trip, we stopped in Warner Robins for the evening. We try to find different places to dine, but being unfamiliar with the area, and tired from the dayâs drive, we opted for Outback which was walking distance from the hotel. We sat at the bar, where the bartenders provided good service- attentive and easy to converse with. However mistakes were made with the dinner orders. I ordered my salad with dressing on the side and it was so drenched in dressing it was pretty much inedible. I ordered a 6 oz. steak, my husband ordered the 9 oz. Both entrees came out with the smaller cut. They took my husbandâs plate away to correct, leaving me with my plate of cooling food. Someone rethought this, and returned his plate and advised they would bring him an additional steak. They took off so quick â before we could even tell them not to bother. They did bring out the additional steak (and did not charge anything extra for the additional weight â so in all he got 12 oz. for the 9 oz. price). It was just a bit awkward working on one plate while another with just a steak sat there cooling. We were also advised the vegetable was zucchini, when in fact it was yellow squash. Not a big deal but servers should know the difference when advising customers of the selections available. We were not terribly disappointed as our expectations for chain restaurants doesnât usually run too high. The food was decent, the staff was friendly and the location good for travelers.

Ichiban is one of 3 Japanese Steak Houses in the same restaurant group (Zen and Dai-Ichi). If you are seeking a Tappenyaki show your options are pretty much limited to Ichiban or Zen. We have never tried Zen, but we have visited Ichiban multiple times over the past few years and never once have I left feeling satisfied. The latest visit was typical. We made a reservation for 8 to insure we could have a private show at one grill and on the day you arrive you're told they can't find your reservation but not to worry "we'll seat you anyway". Then they find the reservation and bring you to your grill and seat your party of 8 with another group of 3 that may have walked in, so you now have 11 squeezed around a grill that can seat only 8 comfortably. You point out that you made a reservation for a private grill and get told, sorry we only have 2 chefs on duty and they're busy so if you want a private show you have to wait. When the Chef finally arrives he is competent as a cook, but decidedly uncharismatic which makes the Tappenyaki show low energy and disappointing. He has few tricks and his knife skills decidedly lacking. The food prepared is classic of this style, first the Chef prepares fried rice, and then a selection of grilled vegetables, and then whatever protein you've selected. Our group was a mixture of chicken, shrimp and steak. None of the dishes, protein, veg, or rice, was particularly flavorful, and the rice in particular partially ruined by the Chef having to leave the grill (twice) to retrieve something that should have been on his cart and as a result the eggs in the fried rice were scorched and over cooked. The sauces that are provided are standard for Tappenyaki, one brown and essentially a teriyaki and the other supposedly a white sauce, frequently called yum yum sauce, however the sauce at Ichiban tasted like 1000 island dressing and was completely inedible. Usually when you find a Tappenyaki style restaurant you can find reviews that complain about the loud and distracting show, I assume because they didn't comprehend what Tappenyaki is all about and weren't prepared for the show; but you don't find that in the reviews for this establishment because the show is quite lifeless and uninspiring. Not worth your money.

The salads here are crisp and substantial (not skimpy). The yeast rolls have shrunk in size since our last visit, they are tasty nonetheless. Our sirloin steaks were ordered medium rare and came out medium, we ate them anyway and did not complain. Sweet potato was the best item on the plate. Service was fast and friendly. I rate this restaurant as average. We appreciate you taking the time to review your experience. If you'd like us to follow up with your concerns, please give us a call at 1-844-6LOGANS. Thank you.
