Amazing cool setting and fabulous food! Home cooking for a cheap price! The owner works right behind the counter! No tables just bar stools around an horseshoe bar but we didnât have a hard time grabbing a seat! Huge burger and fries $5.99 and it was amazing! This is a great dive diner! A must visit

it's not cramped, but its cozy. i felt like i was in momma's kitchen watching her wrestle up a meal. it's all right there in front of you across the counter. the griddle is right behind the counter so you are involved. steak gravy is magnificent and rides a burger well. chili cheese dogs just keep on getting better n better. fries are a little bigger than i care for but were well received. to get a better piece of chicken you'd have to be a rooster, service is welcoming, efficient and metered. you get just enough. with only 11 seats out front the theme of the whole place seems be to feed their customers and scoot em out the door with a smile on their face so others can joint the legion of the faithful. since 1931 they've been packing em in here. burnt slap to the ground about 10 years ago and they rebuilt exact replica. the new place looks just as ancient as the old joint but he food is even better. that was a fine chili dog! they are big on ladling gravy or chili over the top of burgers. if you order a burger all the way it comes in a puddle of chili. so don't be surprised

I have heard of this restaurant many times and have had it recommended more than once. Thanks to a meeting in the area we agreed to meet here for breakfast. Glad we did. This restaurant is a real throwback and reminds me of so many rural restaurants that I have visited over the years. Guess that is one of the benefits of growing up in the south. And, yes, they have a model train that is elevated and runs around the entire dining room. Adds a nice touch given the name of the establishment. While I do love a "meat and three" restaurant you have to have breakfast here. The homemade biscuits, gravy, sausage, grits............all the trappings of a classic southern breakfast, are here. And boy is it good. Eggs cooked to order, always full cup of hot coffee and plenty of southern hospitality make this a wonderful place to dine. I do hope to get back there soon and perhaps will try lunch on my next visit. Don't miss this place even if you have to go out of your way to do so.
