Next to the Farmer's Market
The Market Diner has been located next to a farmers market for decades and continues to thrive. This is partly due to the quality the vegetables they prepare. As a matter of fact, the buffet is comprised mostly of hot delicious vegetables; greens, 3 varieties of peas, potatoes, lima beans and more. Down the line was fried chicken, gizzards, smother fried hamburger steaks and more. I imagine they used âorganicâ meats and veggies long before it was fashionable. The taste is fantastic. Today homemade cinnamon buns were on the dessert table. My goodness they were great. Prices are reasonable. Service was spot on. We never ran low on beverages (good ole Southern ice tea) and our server actually delivered an order of fried yellow squash by surprise. TIP: cash is king. There is a $1 up-charge when using a credit card. So when in Thomasville be sure to stop in when youâre good and hungry for a great meal.

I could write a review on this place all the time because I eat either here or their restaurant in Cairo, Georgia There really is not much to say. They do seafood right all the time. Most people eat their fried food but I am here to tell you their grilled food is a winner. They really do have the best hamburger and hamburger steak dinner that are second to none. I recommend them highly.

Thomasville is synonymous with plantations, majestic oaks, beautiful roses and The Plaza Restaurant and newly remodeled Oyster Bar. In fact, we are proud to be Georgia's Oldest Restaurant and 2016 marks The Plaza's 100th anniversary. That's right, The Pla
My son had his rehearsal dinner for 20. The staff was very attentive and every aspect of the evening flowed perfectly. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. I would definitely recommend The Plaza for intimate dining or dining for a crowd. Special thanks to Danielle who did a superb job of keeping everyone happy!!!

The food was really good but that is where the positive experience ended. Our night started off nice because we arrived early at 5:30 and were greeted promptly. Our food came out later than others who were seated an hour later than us. We didn't get refills on drinks and then our bill took forever. We brought bite size cupcakes in for a birthday celebration and were charged a $10 fee for bringing in an outside dessert. When we asked about the fee, the owner came to the table and was patronizing and rude . She treated us like we were cheap because we all ordered lighter fare. She didn't seem to appreciate the fact we chose this restaurant over others. The confronation with the owner ruined our birthday celebration.

Rustic & refined comfortable restaurant, lounge & cheese shoppe. Our knowledgeable & happy staff will entice you an amazing selection of cheese, craft cocktails, craft beer & interesting wines, garden dining, specialty events, catering services & a cozy,
One look at Liamâs menu and you realize this is not typical local restaurant culinary choices. I admit Iâm a creature of habit and was a bit skeptical but decided to give it a fling; no regrets. Our food was very good and service spectacular. It was strange to this Southerner to see Liamâs charged for dinner rolls, per roll, when they are usually included elsewhere. Frankly they were very good but not that good. As others have noted, I too find their prices rather high on everything from spirits to desserts. I know, âyou get what you pay forâ as they say. Would we go back? Yes. Would we recommend Liamâs? Yes. Next time we may go for Happy Hour in their lounge next door. It was packed on a week night and they serve cheese burgers.

This place is a pleasant surprise. We thought it was a cheese shoppe (which is it) BUT it is also a restaurant. It offers great menu items from homemade pimiento cheese dip for starters to grass-fed beef hamburgers! Delicious all the way around. The staff is great at giving opinions and offering suggestions. Very attention. You will walk away from lunch satisfied and happy and wanting to come back for dinner!

Stopped in after hearing about this place over the years.Ordered the âFamous Greek Saladâ with grilled chicken and regretted it. It was Ok flavor wise, but portions were very small. I mean tiny. There mightâve been 2-3ozs of shredded chicken and a single (as in lone) kalamata olive. My dining partner ordered the same also had a single olive on the plate. Please note this was not a side salad...Letâs talk price for this minuscule salad lunch...$21.98 for the two salads alone. So not worth it. To add insult, when I arrived home (hungry) I glanced at my receipt and noticed they had charged me 50cents for tap water. Iâm not kidding...I ended up paying $1 for local tap water...Is it just me or does that alone sound ridiculous? Not good George and Louieâs. Based on my experience here, I will not return.

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Right off, I will admit I am a picky dunker. My friend and I both ordered the steak and eggs special. The orders were done perfectly. My eggs over-easy and my friends over Med-well. The steaks were a good sized portion and very tender. The home fries were done with a light crunch and not greasy one bit. This was the best steak and eggs Iâve had in my 40 some years. Defiantly going back soon.

Went up to Tallahassee with my wife to visit our daughter, a student at FSU. At her recommendation we drove the short distance up to Thomasville to have dinner at Sass (Sweet and Savory Sisters). Well worth the drive! Kind of a Southern, slightly hipster place in SW GA with great service and food. Between us we had shrimp and grits (their best seller, very good), shrimp etouffee (also very good), and salmon, with various sides like red beans and rice, collards, etc. All very good. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely return.

Located in the historic town of Thomasville, Georgia, JONAH'S offers delicious seafood and more made fresh daily and served in a family-friendly, alcohol-free environment. JONAH'S "fish & grits" is a refined twist on the English concept of "fish & chips"
I was in Thomasville on business and the hotel recommended Jonahâs in the renovated downtown Thomasville area. I absolutely loved Jonahâs and the downtown area as well. Jonahâs features gulf seafood options including grilled fish, shellfish and other items. The starters also included several innovative options from soups and salads. The patient wait staff helped me select a few great items and a feast was had. Having gorged myself, a very pleasant walk around the adorable downtown Thomasville area was in order. A very nice evening all the way around. One note, I do not believe Jonahâs serves alcohol, but you may be able to bring your own. It wasnât a big deal for me.
