Went here for supper last night only because we had a gift certificate that we needed to use. We normally are not Applebee's eaters only because we've had bad experiences with their service, and their foods not being good (at other locations) so we gave this Applebee's a try and I have to say that our experience was good this trip. It wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. Honestly the service we had was Great! The lady kept an eye on us the whole time and kept our drinks full! Our foods came out hot, and tasted great! We were quite surprised that the foods were as good as they were considering other Applebee's we have been to! Big Thanks to this Applebee's in Calhoun, Ga. for making us feel welcomed and serving us some great tasting foods!
I had the Blue salad blackened. It was blackened chicken in a wonderful salad. Price = $6.99 + tax, plus drink if you want anything besides water. Tasty and pretty healthy dinner. They give you a cup and you fill your own drinks and refills.

We came here for the salad bar, which looked very lame - so we passed on that. Certainly did not compare to the Big Boy salad bar. The food was very average. Waitress was unfriendly, never came by to check on us. The first glass of water was the only one we received. Although the restaurant was half empty, we waited twenty minutes for our food, after we ordered.

I guess Calhoun doesn't really support the area restaurants except on the weekends because it's hard to find one open on a weekday night. This one is no different. It's a little hard to get into the restaurant because of its location and you might miss it if you don't use Google Maps or something. Once you get in, you'll find a very nice restaurant with good servers. The BBQ is really good and you have a simple choice of three sauces. The sauce hasn't been added so you can actually taste the meat and add as much as you want. The onion rings are good too. For BBQ in the Calhoun area, this has been the best so far.

Consistency, quality, and great value. If that's what you look for in a restaurant, you need to frequent (not just try) Classic Kitchen (formerly The Gate). All of their food is fresh, good portions for the price, and consistently good tasting. We had the lemon pepper wings and Classic BBQ burger with fried mushrooms. We've never been served cold food or had a bad experience. I just can't figure out why this place isn't packed every night. I hope it's not because it's owned and run by a Palestinian family. They are great people and know how to run a restaurant and cook good food. This remains our favorite restaurant in the Calhoun area.

My daughter and I met for lunch on a busy Saturday. We were seated quickly, ordered, and were served delicious food by Steven, our server. Great experience. I donât eat this many carbs typically, but when I want this kind of Southern food, I eat at CB. It did not disappoint. I even wanted unsweetened tea, and they had it. Great meal.

While passing thru Georgia and staying at a hotel we saw the Longhorn with easy walking distance. My husband was hungry from driving all day. We got in immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and very attentive. Our drink and food came quickly and it was excellent. A very clean restaurant and reasonably priced.

We normally have a good food experience here but something has changed lately. The food was "just okay" a few weeks ago and tonight, I got their Meatball Sub Sandwich and it was cold! The minimum holding temperature for cooked meat is 140 degrees F. This sandwich wasn't even close to room temperature. While returning the sandwich and getting a menu, I had to consider WHAT ELSE in that kitchen isn't at the proper temperature? What temperature are their cold meats store at? How clean is the kitchen and the people working in it? I decided NOT to eat anything from this kitchen. We've been customers for over a year but we will not return to this place again and suggest that everyone take caution for their own health and not eat here.

This is the second time in a few months that we've been to the Thatcher's in Calhoun and we've been served cold food both times! I ordered a Cowboy Pork Spud and was served a cold potato that wouldn't melt the butter and even the pork BBQ was not hot. I don't know if they reheated it in the microwave but it was replaced with a super hot potato AND pork. There was no apology or discount or anything to make me want to come back here. I found out the last time we got cold food that John Thatcher only has the restaurant in Tennessee and all the others belong to his ex-wife now. I guess these places will all go out of business soon because NOBODY should EVER be served cold food. We'll let the health department do their job.
