I joined some friends at the Carriage House for lunch upon a friends recommendation. I must say in this day and age a restaurant that really has nothing for their gluten free guests won't survive. I'm not sure any of us really enjoyed the food and or waitress was was on the negative end of waitstaff I've encountered in a long time. Our wait for food was at least 30 minutes, while people who came in after us were served before us and we ordered nothing exceptional. I personally ordered a BLT with mayo on the side. What I received was a mayo sandwich with a lil bit of bacon. After scraping as much mayo off as possible i ate the thing but not so great. There was only a small portion of bacon, lots of mayo laden lettuce and some decent tomato. The gluten free person had no choice but salad with chicken which didn't look appetizing and the 2 with quiche of the day said adequate. This place which has tables cheek to jowl needs to step up their game or they won't last long.

We were in Jasper at lunchtime and by chance stopped by Mary Ann's. We were not disappointed. We love country cooking and Mary Ann's fits the bill! I had the fried chicken with black eyed peas, turnip greens and my husband had the chicken and dressing with the peas and mashed potatoes. All were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The best part was the blackberry cobbler for dessert -- homemade and delicious! Each day they offer a different lunch menu. The prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to Mary Ann's!

If they ever do away with the complimentary rolls, I'll never go back, seriously. I could make a meal out of them. Service at the Jasper Fatz has always been fast and friendly. Food is pretty good, the calabash chicken tenders are my favorite.

Stopped into Buffalo Lukeâs on the way to Tennessee after driving past a couple billboards. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Good wings both bone/in and boneless. My wifeâs salad looked fresh and she said it tasted good. The server didnât have a clue what flavor each wing plate was, so we had to taste-test since there were no stickers telling the flavor of each plate. Beer in both bottles and on draft for a good price, decent selection. Wings were cooked just right and were good while watching the Sunday football game. Set up like a sports bar so good viewing angles almost anywhere you sit. Service was just decent but the restaurant is set up to serve yourself, so we didnât expect full-service. Overall, not a bad place to grab a beer, eat some good wings, and watch some of a game. Weâd come back!

On a great riding day 7 of us went for a day ride in North GA with Rocoo's as our lunch stop. What a great place. We had wings and burgers and sub sandwiches. All were great. Of course I had to try their renowned Chili and it did not disappoint. Super good!Definitely stop in when in the area but know there will be a lot of great bikers there to.

For 10 people, we bought 5 of the buns. 1/4 of a bun was filling. They were among the best I've ever had.

This is a fun and cute concept, and the food was very good. People complained about the wait, but this is a small place and they do turn over the tables promptly. Lots of history here, and an excellent restoration.

We were traveling through the area and decided to give this place a try. It seemed to be quite popular based on the amount of cars in the parking lot. We were able to sit outside in the shade of a table umbrella enjoying the climate of Jasper. I ordered the salad with pulled pork on the side. I was initially overwhelmed when the waitress placed a 12 inch aluminum tray of salad items in front of me and all I had to do was pile on the pulled pork for a fabulous lunch of protein and veggies! Great bbq flavor in the pulled pork didn't really require any additional sauce, but naturally I had to try a few since they were provided on the table. No one at the table had any complaints with their meals at all. Great place to stop if you're in the area.

As a Maryland crab cake snob, I have to say they serve a good crab cake. I was definitely hesitant, but took the chance and Iâm glad I did. My husband got the blackened catfish. We started our meal with oysters Rockefeller and ended our meal with the white chocolate cake. Everything was very tasty and we will be back when in the area again! We were also fortunate enough to be seated outside right away instead of having to wait for an inside table, and enjoyed the live entertainment.

During an overnight stay in Jasper, our home base for helping to harvest grapes at Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard, we asked the hotel reservation clerk her recommendation for a good restaurant nearby. Well, 61 Main was highly praised so we gave it a go and it was awesome! Luckily, we visited on Monday evening and found it to be the only day of the week when both lunch and dinner meals are served. We were seated by a very courteous young man although we had no reservation. Menu was simply inspired! My wife and I chose the Peruvian Fried Chicken Thigh with cauliflower cake and seared okra. Along with the entree was a piece of pepper spiced cornbread and, to our delight, a slice of strawberry-peach upsidedown cake was included as dessert. Service was excellent, food was outstanding, ambiance was pleasing. The wine list was adequate with both whites and reds present but selections weren't thought provoking. In short, when in the vicinity of Jasper, you simply must sample this exquisite jewel in the Blue Ridge foothills.
