We just moved to Huissen and decided to visit after reading other Trip Advisor Reviews. We weren't disappointed. The ambiance is lovely inside and out, relaxing and on the chic or eclectic side with good background music that doesn't drown out or compete with conversation. We enjoyed dining on the outside patio on a comfortable Summer evening. All of us ordered the Carpaccio as an appetizer, which was great. Wine and drinks were good too. Entrees of steak and lamb were of high quality and prepared nicely. A lot of food, so on my next visit I'll likely make a meal of the Carpaccio.. . . and perhaps save some room for one of their enticing desserts. Nice to have this restaurant in our village.

We go there about once a year, and the last time the service was good, and the pancake's very tasty. It has improved a lot because with previous visits we had to wait a very very long time before the food was served. The quality of te food was also improved, previous years the pancake's were not cooked very well.

This beautiful restaurant is a must-try in the small village of Velp, Holland. The actual watermill in its front leads to a lovely terrace and, beyond that, a welcoming restaurant inside. Since the weather in Holland does not often lend itself to outside dinners. even on this July visit recently, we opted for an inside table. We called an hour or so before and were delighted to find our table set up and ready, and yet, we were not rushed to take our spots. We were offered drinks by the cozy sitting area near the fireplace, accompanied by deliciously marinated olives and other snacks (complimentary). When we were done with a couple of rounds of drinks, we took our seats and were ready to order since we had checked out the menu while chatting and having our apéros. In our group of 9 adults, 2 opted for the 'Chef's surprise', an intriguing option that can be ordered regardless of what the others at the table order (there is a larger tasting menu, also called Chef's surprise, with more courses, and which does require all diners at the table to partake in that service, understandably.) Even upon ordering, we are not given a hint of what the chef has in mind that evening, just asked if we have any allergies or anything-but-x on our list. We didn't, so we eagerly awaited our courses. As we had some white and some red wine drinkers at the table, we selected a red in the reasonable price category of their pretty good list, and the maître d' (or owner?) discreetly suggested a white in the same price range for us as well. Nice touch.Winners in our overall selections were the vitello tonnato, the steak eaters as well, and for sure the Chef's surprise courses. The steak tartare was fresh and good, but could have used more seasoning and we were not asked when the order was taken if we wanted it more spicy or less so. The fries were very good as well. All in all, we highly recommend De Watermolen, speak to the owner (or manager) about the history of the watermill, he is very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had no problem getting English menus for those of us who needed it, and the waiter insisted on speaking English to us, even though we did have some Dutch natives among us. The entire meal was a bit on the pricey side, but hey, we were here for a special occasion and were happy to indulge.Would definitely return and highly recommend!

On Sundays, Ikea Restaurant offers a sumptuous breakfast for just one Euro. One Sunday early morning, we drove from Nijmegin to Duiven (about 1 hour drive) to taste this breakfast. The place was quite crowded and apparently this breakfast is very popular with the people in that area. Items included in the breakfast were clearly displayed and included a croissant, a boiled egg, ham and cheese, a bread roll and coffee. The items were sufficient for a wholesome breakfast. Items were well made and we all savored the breakfast. Additional breakfast items were available as add-onâs. While this low-priced breakfast appears to be a ploy to get more customers in Ikea store (almost all those who came for breakfast, went to the store as the restaurant is within the Ikea store) but the breakfast in itself was a good deal and a trip early on Sundays is certainly worth it.

Geen verrassende kaart, maar gewoon klassiekers die prima bereid zijn. Personeel doet zijn best maar door drukte kost het soms wat meer moeite de aandacht te trekken voor het bestellen van een drankje.

A typical lunchroom in the centre of the village. It was a beautiful day and the terrace was open as well. We choose to sit inside, a bit cooler. The lunch menu is attractive and serving typical Dutch specialities. Think of Uitsmijter (ham, cheese and eggs). Good food for a good price.

We went for our 15th Anniversary. We knew it would be more exclusive, more impressive, and more expensive than anything we'd tried before. We weren't disappointed on all of those points. Set in the beautifully restored old town-hall (the interior is surprisingly contemporary) the space was perfectly finished, with great attention to detail. Large, well dressed, tables with plenty of space between them. A quiet, polite, efficient & cheery waitress and waiter explained the wine list (encyclopaedia) to us and brought us a glass of Moët & Chandon with a beautiful (complementary) amuse to start things off. A bottle of wine and one of sparkling mineral water were presented, poured, and placed just out of reach on the table. This kind of worried me a little but there was no need - every time my thoughts went to maybe topping a glass up, someone would be there topping it up for me. Our entrees arrived very promptly and were works of culinary art - especially my lobster-themed plate. I hardly dared disturb it, so beautifully constructed. (see the pictures I managed to sneak in)Another (complementary) in between-dish was brought out - a kind of savoury Crème Brûlée, in my crude culinary vocabulary - that was just delicious. The mains arrived and were equally stunning to look at, as well as being incredibly cleverly thought out. The combination of flavours as subtle as they were unexpected and ingenious. Deserts were ordered (unusually for us) and another in-between dish preceded them. A light coconut sorbet with a sprinkling of tiny granola, topped with a disc of sugar/coriander which had various blobs of exiting things on it; wasabi-crème (yes 'that' wasabi - on a dessert) white chocolate crème and tiny lavender flowers. I was amazed, again. Then the desserts proper. I had what basically amounted to 'death by chocolate', and it was simply superb. Chocolate a dozen different ways, with a dozen different flavours. Another work of art, such a shame to have to destroy it (but be sure I did just that). The bill; was twice as much as we'd pay elsewhere in a decent restaurant, but the whole experience was five times better. Not something we'd do every other week, but 't Raedthuys is now our go-to place on that special occasion.

you have alreday many other hotels/restaurants of this Dutch chain, but thsi oen is noty listed it seems
What a great hotel. Big rooms and bathroom. Clean. Huge breakfast buffet filled with such yummy food and so much variety. They also have a pool and a gym which I didn't use this time unfortunately. Service is good. You can check in early but will be charged about 20 Euro extra. Only drawback is there is no shops around it within walking distance. I would love to stay here again..
