One of Poland’s most beautiful cities, Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea, has played major roles in history, especially in the 20th-century. It was the 1939 flash point of World War II, and then in 1980, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc labor movement, ushering the end of Communist domination in Eastern Europe. Gdansk’s Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed to its Hanseatic League glory after being leveled in World War II, is a highlight. The 14th-century Town Hall houses the city’s historical museum.

Small but clean and comfy rooms with a relatively large bathroom. All new and well kept. The breakfast is good and at a fair price. All located very centrally down by the canal in the centre of Gdansk. For the price it is an excellent hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Perfect location in the centre of Gdańsk. Hotel is very contemporary and luxurious. The room was very nice. It has an open plan layout with glass bathroom, but in this case there is also a curtain. This way you can choose to have some more privacy and a cozy bedroom. Room was clean. Bed was good. Personnel very friendly. Breakfast amazing. So many choices of buffet and a la carte! Price quality is great.

Fama Residence is conveniently located in three historic tenement houses just next to the 17th century Golden Gate on the old town’s main pedestrian street “Długa”. All main attractions, the newest shopping center and public transport are just a short walk away.
Really enjoyed our 3 nights at Fama Residence. Worth upgrading to a larger room. We had 201 with comfy beds, settee and fridge. Shower good. Main bonus is the location. 10 mins walk from the railway/bus station where the 210 airport bus goes to, and the hotel is at the top of the main street next to the Golden Gate. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The room was hot and being at the front of the building we only opened the windows during the day when we were in. I can imagine it being a bit noisier in high season but they supply earplugs and we had no problems. Reception staff were ok. Yes there’s no English channels, news channel would have been nice but certainly not a deal breaker. Beautiful building and amazing location sums it all up. We would stay here again. Highly recommended..

Stuck between a horrible highway going right through the city and a major train corridor, but thick windows...but there's no off option on the over engineered heating controls so opening windows might become necessary. And the bathroom floor is amusingly warm (hot). Rooms have a undefined aesthetic, like a gay funeral home in the 1980s
