This was a bit of a disappointing visit. We ordered starters the wifes came and was fine but my crumbed mushrooms was cold and i asked for a tartare sauce, but the waitress said they where all out but replaced it with a house sauce, well that house sauce was absolutely horrible, it was watery and had no taste. This should have been a sign..So we ordered main meal i chose the 350gram tbone with veggies and a mushroom sauce, the wife chose the prego with chips. The prego was nice and decent, the meat was tender and the chips fresh. My meal on the other hand wasnt all that nice.Veggies was nice and fresh...Tbone, well that did not look like a 350gram, and once again it was cold, i must say it was tender. The mushroom sauce was more like a cream sauce with mushroom flavor because there was not even on piece of mushroom in the sauce. This was a huge disappointment, even the service was slow and what i noticed was it seemed like they where under staffed on waiters. This time it was not money well spent..

Werners has definitely been one of my favourite restaurants for many years. However, I recently took a few acquaintances there for a business lunch. Unfortunately, the excellent, faultless service was lacking, and the food wasn't up to scratch either. I ordered Lamb Curry off the bone - according to the menu. More than a third of what was served in a nice stainless steel dish was a huge bone, larger than a really big oxtail bone. The meat was quite tasteless and it was tough; hardly what I expected when ordering lamb! For the price, one would expect chutney and other sambals to also be served. The service was reasonable but all in all, I got the impression that this was not the same restaurant I had looked forward to visiting for many past years.

We had mothers day lunch at Mike's Kitchen. From the start the service was good but the waiter did not seem to know what a buffet was. We asked if they buffet was available but he said no the menus was taken away and presented us with the mothers day special. I then asked if they had vegetarian options, he went to the kitchen and said we could go for the carvery (this would be the buffet we asked for). I must however say that the service after this indecent was really good. The carvery (buffet) had good options. My only negative would be the dessert. There was very few options. Cheese cake, muffins and mini doughnuts. The cheese cake base was stuck to the pan so I could not even try it, the muffins was half baked and the mini doughnuts tasted as if it was a day or more old. I would have expected a warm pudding like malva pudding and custard at least on a cold day.

Artisanâ Bistro serving true South African fare. Comfort food with a twist. Beers, wine and cocktails. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
This place feels like home and Iâve been back after 3 months as the food never changes - every meal is excellent and their milkshakes are out of this world. Today they had fires in the fireplaces and lekker coffee! Always great to go back!We treasure your valued patronage! Hoping to see you soon again.
