Recently my wife and I had the opportunity to entertain friends in our local area. we decided to try a restaurant called Cantinha's Portuguese just around the corner from home. The place exceeded ALL our expectations and I can honestly say this is a gem of a restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was really outstanding. The whole ambience of the place made for a relaxing visit with friends and family, old and young. The menu definitely catered to everyone's taste and the prices were reasonable. I would surely recommend the Cantinha for their steak dishes, it has been a while since I enjoyed a steak done that well.

The hotel is not in greatest part of town so taxis are recommended to get about. The hotel was a great price and very central near many of the tourist attractions. The owner is very helpful and was full of good advice. The room was in good to fair condition but reflects the price. The restaurant is great and thoroughly recommended.

Once again outstanding experience. Vasco's did not disappoint us. I had fish (a silver-side something fish) and after spending a few years in Mozambique with the great variety of fresh fish and great restaurants, I was blown away with how fresh, tasty, moist, beautifully cooked and presented on a bed of vegetables mixed with baby potatoes done in the oven.....................wow so good. My partner had duck (we had this before) and it was just as amazing. I don't often go out of my way to promote restaurants but Vasco's gets 10 out of 10.

We usually try to eat local food while traveling, but we decided to go to Pigalle as it was closer to the airport and we had to catch a 1 AM flight. It was our best meal in South Africa.We had the Portuguese caldo verde, the prawns aguilho and the cod fish. Everything was delicious.

Not used to letting your hair down and relaxing? Go to Madeira Bar. Down to earth friendly no frills with a great vibe and noisy. The food is excellent. Very reasonably priced and authentic Portuguese dishes. Clientele seem to be just having a good time and the staff is there to help them. Waiters competent, polite and plain nice.

Made a quick visit after church on Sunday. Service was fast. Waiters tried to be efficient, though appeared to be a bit inexperienced.Wife ordered Cappuchino, but the milk tasted a bit sour and sent back - no offer for another cup and had to request that it be taken off bill. Lunch I ordered was a preprepared frozen tart microwaved to heat - too hot and not enjoyable.Venue caters for small functions, e.g. baby showers, etc. Try to make it pleasant and I'm sure guest enjoyed occasion.Did not meet our expectations.

Popped in for a Saturday morning breakfast buffet. The food was of a poor quality and was cold and served on cold plates. Coffee or juice not included and the tip was automatically added to the bill. For R100 a head I was certainly expecting better.

Came here for a business lunch with colleagues. Had the half chicken and a bar one shake. Chicken was a bit disappointing as there was not much meat and it was a little dry. Service is a bit slow and waiters may need a bit of training as they stood around aimlessley while we wanted to order drinks. One would like to think they could tell if customers are getting annoyed or impatient but it is not the case here. Even the manager kept eye contact but did not bother checking so we had to get their attention. If you want to sell as much as possible you should up your game a bit.

Fun ambiance and service superb. That doesnât make up for fact fish was rubbery and not properly cooked. Seasoning was uneventful. Hoped for more peri peri taste although they had sauce in table. Not the same as grilled with sauce. Liver starter excellent. Also excellent security getting in and out from street. Sketchy neighborhood way off the grid. Take taxi not safe.

We where a group of 7 and every single person enjoyed the food... Everyone had smiles all round and couldnât stop complimenting the food and venue..We had from fish to steaks, and everything was just perfect...The kiddies enjoyed the play area, we barely saw them. They just loved it..10/10 keep it up guys...Till we see you again.....
