We happened on this gem by chance. We were looking for a place to stop on our drive from San Jose to Manuel Antonio, and thought Zona K looked inviting. We completely underestimated. Everything we ordered - from caprese salad to fried rice to pastries to smoothies - was amazing. Just as an example, the fried rice was heaping with delicious fresh vegetables and the breaded chicken was crisp and tender (ordered it in case it would tempt our child - someone at the neighboring table had a seared tuna steak that made my mouth water). Service was great. In terms of size, Zona K has the vibe of a sidewalk cafe - some seating inside and a few tables outside. It's nice that this is not on Jaco's busy "strip," this was nice and relaxed. We're so glad we stopped, and I was motivated to actually write about it because it was such a find.

Iâll preface my review by saying weâve visited this restaurant many times before during our annual visits to Jaco & have had good service & good to great food. Well....this last visit was a complete disaster. The waitress, sheâs never waited on us before, had an overwhelmingly obvious rotten attitude. In the middle of my ordering, she turned her back to me & walked to another table & started talking to a guy. Then, the entire time our party of 6 was ordering, she was rolling her eyes, & never smiled once. It was like she thought we shouldnât be there. She was probably the most rude waitress Iâve ever experienced. Then, the food came. Our friend ordered a the beef filet med. rare & it came out well done....looked like chicken fried steak.I ordered the special, Camerones with salad. What I recâd was a slop of sautéed onions & peppers, with what appeared to be 3, over cooked shrimp-sized langoustines with small claws & heads still on. I love authentic CR & Latin Am cooking & flavors. It was almost like they had some leftover langoustines & served them to us. There were 3 fried plantains that were so hard, they were inedible. My husband & I left hungry. The other 2 dishes were only so-so.They brought out a new steak & it was better.Either they had a new cook on Monday or they need to get a new one. This was the worst food our entire trip. Not sure if weâll ever go back.

On vacation in Jaco with friends and visited Juanita's at Jaco Walk for dinner one evening. What a fabulous choice. The atmosphere is fun with lots of people milling about and good shopping. For dinner I had the Seafood Soup. Lots of flavor and very filling with a great assortment of shellfish. My friends ordered Steak Enchiladas and enjoyed every bite. We all enjoyed the Chips and Guacamole with an assortment of vegetable. Best "guac" ever!! Our hostess Nichole (from Canada) was friendly and welcoming with lots of information about the area and her life of travel. Thanks for a wonderful evening. We shall return!!Thank you very much!!!

This eating establishment was actually called Tiki Bar or Breakers Sports Bar. No matter what it's called, it is located on the beach at Jaco Laguna Resort. We ate her twice during our stay as it is a great place to be able to dine and watch the sunset. There is some bar seating and the rest of the seating are tables on the lawn with concrete tables covered by tiki hut style umbrellas. We ate here twice. The first night we started with one server for all of the tables and he had a hard time keeping up before others showed up to help. The second time there was more staff when we arrived. Both meals I ordered were excellent - coconut shrimp and tiki tacos which were mahi mahi tacos. My wife had stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables and a hamburger. She thought both were very good. Other items that had been ordered by our group were mango shrimp and sea bass which were also good. Would recommend eating here.

Peruvian Food is known world wild for it flavors and diversity. It offers typical dishes with european , African and Asian influences. Here you can see why Peruvian food is one of the best of the world. In Pisco Mar Peruvian Bar & Grill you will find the
first the good: the beaf dish, the seafood soup and the drinks (killer maracuja pisco and pina colada!!!!!!!)second, the not so good: the pulpo was over-tenderized to the point of being mushy (had much better in italy and greece), the mixed seafood fry plate was over-cooked and really lacked flavour.....in general, a bit of salt would do wonders, also some lime with fried dishes and seafood.tips: beware the dip with the fried plantains, it will take the skin off your tongue...lollastly, the service: slow would be the best to describe it. when there are less than 10 people in the restaurant it shoulnd' take 30 minutes just to get a couple fo drinks; even for Tico time that is more than slow.....dont think we will go back.....

Great views of Hermosa beach break. Start off with a smoothie and then ceviche. Several of us had Casado lunch which does not disappoint. Excellent fish and even the kids enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was very chill and food came out rather fast. Parking always a struggle but can manage with help. We went over the weekend which was busy but not too overcrowded. Great place to watch surf !

We were staying at a friend's home nearby and had several chances to eat at Bowie's. First, if on a budget, I could live on the Gallo Pinto for breakfast. Also tried the Casado steak, again, generous servings. The fresh fruit drinks which are mixed and blended to order, with our without alcohol are refreshing. The staff is always friendly and eager to serve. The kitchen just needs to keep the queso for frying on hand. Missed it one morning they ran out. No problem, we'll come back, next visit.
