Discover Restaurants offering the best South American food in Isabela, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. The largest of the Galapagos Islands, Isabela is one of the most volcanically active places in the world. Whether this is thrilling or terrifying is up to you. It doesn’t seem to bother the iguanas and penguins of Las Tintoreras, a nearby island cluster and popular snorkeling site. Walk from Puerto Villamil through mangrove forests and saltwater lagoons to reach the Tortoise Breeding Center. Isabela was once used as an exile for prisoners, who built the devastating Wall of Tears as part of their punishment.

We are a family restaurant, the appearance of the place is mainly rudimentary wood and bambo. Our specialties are the encocado of seafood, ceviche galapagueño and parrilda sea and land. We will be very happy to have you here.
I saw The Oasis on a blog mentioning restaurants worth a try but not featuring on tripadvisor and glad to give it a go for a $6 almuerzo (set lunch)Soup....so flavoursome. Excellent.Crumbled fish, rice, salad, fries and a small bowl of Dahl which was super over the fish.Desert was tiramisu. Again very nice.I have no idea why more people havenât hit on the Oasis. It really was very good today.
Really liked this lounge, they have great mixed drinks and local craft beers with a chill atmosphere. The architecture of the lounge is incredible, the building and furniture is all made of various types of beautiful hardwood. Got to meet the owner, Willian, a Galapagos Local, who apparently built all of it himself! When I return to the Galaps, I will definitely return to Uku Pama! FYI to those reading this, Iâm a 28yr old male backpacking South America. Cheers â!
This place is for seafood and meat lovers. All dishes are barbecued on a Grill. We chose the Mixed Grill plate that had literally everything: Lobster, beef, shrimp, octopus, chicken, plantains, potatoe. Meals include fresh juices. The plate for $28 easily feeds 2 or 3 people. Very plain place with a dirt floor, but the food and service were second to none. Note that they only accept cash, but we had this meal and bottle of wine for under $40 for 3 of us eating.

We brought our 3 children here for lunch after a traumatic and tiring ferry crossing from Puerto Ayora. The kitchen was just closing so we were offered what they had, a set lunch of soup, rice and fruit. We were then served a delicious homemade thick beef stew, fantastic seafood fried rice with shrimp and octopus, and fresh passion fruit juice. The bill was $35 all in, and was by far the tastiest and best value local food we have experienced in the Galápagos Islands. Right on the beach as well.

Like a lot of places in the islands, La Fogota features a lunch special ⦠for $8 you get a large bowl of soup (cream-based the day we visited ⦠served with fresh popcorn), choice of grilled chicken or fish, juice, and dessert (jello). Pleasant, open facility lets you catch an available cooling breeze.

Palm Beach was born as the idea of a common restaurant that over time and the great advice of a friend became an elegant, distinguished and welcoming restaurant that has a wide variety of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, excellent quality, creativi
Favorite restaurant I ate at during 3 day stay in Puerto Villamil. Tastier and better presented food than restaurants on the main strip. Restaurant is on Escalecias street near Galapagos Bike and Surf - up from the main street. Well worth the walk up. Felt comfortable walking there for dinner as single female. Must try the ceviche!

Maestro de Casa offers you a great variety of typical plates and also drinks, as us for the fresh fish of the day, different types of grilled meats accompanied with delicious side dishes, ceviches and seafood prepared with special care, burgers and vegeta
We ate here twice for dinner over a 4-day period. The $10 ceviche was great and plentiful, and was served with rice and patacones, so was very filling. The second time we had tuna in coconut sauce, which was decent but not as good as the ceviche. The service was always friendly and surprisingly fast, given the quality of the meals. No credit cards accepted, so bring cash.

Relax at our restaurant or a table at the beach, surrounded by the charms of Isabela and the tastes of our blend of international, Ecuadorian and Peruvian cuisine. Every dish on our menu is prepared with fresh and organic ingredients that are locally grow
Breakfast was included in our stay. Each morning was a large and different buffet from hot to cold offerings. The owner has an organic garden and dairy so the vegetables and milk/cheese/yogurt are outstanding. We enjoyed dinner here our last evening. Knowing that pasta is a specialty, we ordered carbonara and pasta with shrimp. Both were generous plates of perfectly cooked and seasoned pasta, one with a dozen shrimp. We enjoyed a Ecuadorian soup and several nibbles because the excellent service is slow to deliver entrees, all prepared just for you and worth waiting for. The dining space is serene and not at all crowded when we were there. The sophisticated offerings were another unexpected surprise on this lovely and casual island.Dear k w. thanks for your review and your possitive comments about the breakfast and dishes of our Restaurant! As you wrote we have an organic farm in the highlands where we harvest the veggies and fruits that are used in the restaurant, as well as we produce our own milk, eggs, fresh cheese and jam. All the best and hope to see you soon again!
