We have loved Atlanta Highway Seafood Market and have gone there for lunch regularly. Lately, however, the experience has not been so enjoyable. While the food remains consistently great, the popularity of AHSM has grown in such a way that makes it difficult to get in for lunch unless you arrive at 11:00 or after 1:00 or once in, has sometimes resulted in being hurried and pushed out the door as soon as the last bite has been finished. Success is great and we applaud a local place being supported but it is frustrating to have to fight the crowds. So, I recommend you go and enjoy the great food but be prepared to plan ahead to avoid frustration!

Atlas serves a great Pizza in a quaint storefront right on the square in downtown Gainesville. Going on a Friday night may also provide you access to some good music in the park. Their salads are very good. The large is almost too much to eat. Service might be a little slow on weekends, but pizza is worth the wait.

Tried this gem after reading the glowing reviews. Two of us thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the time we walked in the front door. Everone is enthusiastically welcomed by "Gus" the owner who hosts you like family. His enthusiasm and charm light up the place. The best part is the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The menu is extensive and authentic. The atmosphere is casual and the service is responsive and attentive. We shared chilli rellenos, guacamole, chips, and salsa. Plenty of food for two. Everything was delicious. Go there, enjoy, and leave with a smile on your face.

Janet and I visited Luna's on Saturday, December 16th with some friends. They have two dining rooms. The formal dining room was booked solid, so we opted for the Wine Bar, which also had live music. We were very pleasantly surprised.
Our server was Annika, who was very attentive and helpful. She answered all of our questions about their menu and made us feel very much at home.
Our meals were excellent, and Annika's wine recommendation fit perfectly. Part way through out meal, the live music started but in a low key, pleasant way that made it a most enjoyable meal.
I highly recommend the Wine Bar at Luna's. I know that everyone wants to book dinner in the main dining room, but I think that the Wine Bar is a much better choice for a casual night out with friends. And ask for Annika as your server !

We finally got to visit the wonderful restaurant. Food was absolutely wonderful. Everything we had was cooked correctly. My husband, son and his girlfriend had the salmon. Temp perfect and flavor was great. I had the shrimp and grits. I was worried as it was a bbq style. The taste was great not over bearing. The bbq actually I’m hacked the food. We will be. Back

The Collegiate Grill is like a trip back in time to say 1959 or 1960. The burgers are super good, the fries are great and if your say in your 60s you'll feel kind of like your back in High School. Everything at the Collegiate Grill taste great and the prices are good as well.

We were out for breakfast in Gainesville recently, and we stopped at Avocado's on the Square. Service was fast, coffee was hot and good, and the food was well prepared. We only had omelettes and bacon, but everything was fresh and hot. A perfect breakfast.

Fantastic food & service! We've eaten here many times - never been disappointed. Tempura is delicious - shrimp & steak hibachi awesome. Love yum yum sauce too. Very clean and Peggy is so friendly! Dawn, our favorite server, and goes above & beyond to please customers always. Give them a 5+ rating!

I recently attended a wedding rehearsal dinner at Re-cess Southern Gastro Pub and they ran out of silverware... my sister and brother in law had to share a fork. How does that happen when you have a confirmed group number. Eventually, the servers offered plastic forks and knives but we had already finished our dinner and our table was not even the last one to go through the buffet line.
The food was mediocre at best. The broccoli was overcooked and the pork was so tough I could not chew it.
This was a nice venue and the servers were nice but the manager would not even come out of his office to discuss the service issue. Cross this venue off you potential list if you are looking for a place for a group event in Gainesville, GA.
